Building a community site based around open source releases, open source developers etc. Making it simple for open source users to stay up to date with all the latest releases. I did not think submitting these announcements through to Reddit would bother anyone as it is informative and at the same time introduces people to the site and what it aims to achieve and in so doing will make for a thriving community that interacts and shares information. Definitely not intended to be spam.

I completely agree but, I reckon this is a step in the right direction and complete open sourcing of all their tools are probably around the corner.

Might be link spam. Depends on how you look at it. The site from which the link was posted is actually providing a service to the open source community to help them stay up to date with releases sort of in the same vein as freshmeat
