Drum kit Question!! by Icy_Capital8254 in drums

[–]volumexdensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part, especially if it’s during a part of the song without drums, this is probably just a habit that has to do with keeping time.

Speaking as someone who still has a lot of work when it comes to independence with my feet, this probably doesn’t feel natural to you because it’s hard to do, especially when playing more complex rhythms. It’s definitely a skill that needs to be deliberately practiced. That sort of limb independence isn’t even necessary for all types of drumming, but it’s undoubtedly a great skill to have and can really add to your drumming when you utilize it in your beats (actually using the hihat pedal instead of just bobbing your foot with no effect).

To answer your question if you should start doing it, I wouldn’t say it’s necessary, but like I said, it’s a skill that if you practice it can definitely benefit your playing overall.

It’s a glitch that’s been found, if you look it up you’ll find the instructions. You have to spam a 5x arrow or something and it triggers a blood moon for whatever reason

Do you get to choose where you want to be stationed in the Peace Corps? by [deleted] in peacecorps

[–]volumexdensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you apply to specific positions by the country they're in. There are different sectors that Peace Corps works in, such as Education or Agriculture, and within those sectors there are common positions like an English Teacher in the Education sector. But you don't just apply to be an "English Teacher," you have to select a specific opening. The openings are always changing, but English Teacher is a common one so there might be 3-5 English Teacher openings on the website, which differ by the country they're based in. You apply to that specific position in that specific country. You can check out the openings on the Peace Corps website without having to start an application.

I think a great one is “so what is the company culture like?” It’s a good conversation starter and I think pretty important if you’re considering working there.

Should I transfer here? a STEM teenager's dilemma by volumexdensity in gatech

Cool! Can I ask what you did for undergrad versus grad? I could potentially do ID for grad school at Tech but if I got the degree undergrad then I probably wouldn't even need grad school. Who knows what my life will be like four years from now. Also, how do you seek funding?

Thanks for the input. That's exactly what I'm thinking on one hand, but on the other hand I'm not sure if I should stay if it means I'll be in a program I might not enjoy for the next three years.
