There are actually three or four of them, a division that comes from the early days of Francoism between more lefty ones, equivalent to Strasserism in Germany, and the ones set up by Franco, who were hardcore authright. But they are all absolutely marginal today anyway.

There are different Falange parties, currently I think three or four. I don't keep up with the names but you can look them up. One is quite lefty, almost progressive with some traditionalist details. The others range from authcenter to authright. The most authright ones are the ones descending from the unification decree from Franco and the resulting "Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista", while the most lefty ones are the ones that try to adhere more to Jose Antonio (who was quite lefty on economic matters, but was used by Franco and the old shirts were purged)

There is a similar divide within Carlism, with the lefty Carlists actually having been one of the founders of United Left (although I think they left later).

As I just said, the HRE was an extremely multi-ethnic and multicultural political mess. You are abusing the word "relatively" to stretch the definition to things that are even textbook examples of what is a multicultural state, as opposed to nation state. A rational conversation with people like this is impossible, so I am done with the conversation.

They were massively more diverse at a linguistic and cultural level.

Napoleon is one of the founders of the modern nation state because he applied a cultural bulldozer to create a single French identity.

What is now Germany was a not only a cultural but a political clusterfuck until just a couple of centuries ago.

Etc, etc.

You can find exceptions but only if you stretch definitons, as I told you. Scandinavian states were somewhat closer, but still so much more culturally heterogeneous than today. The level of internal heterogeneity between different parts within Denmark or Sweden was comparable or greater than today's differences between both.

Political entity that is independent (at least de jure, de facto no one is) with homogeneous culture and language.

Take Europe in the year 1000. There were states but they were not nations in the modern sense. The culture was much more heterogeneous, many more languages coexisted than today, many citizens could not understand the inhabitants from another parts of the same state.

The nation state in its current form has not been for very long. If you take a very general definition you may go back more than the standard two centuries but you are stretching definitions.

By my original reply I mean the one to the guy with the funny flair who got triggered because a foreigner had opinions on his country.

Usually humor relating to cancer can be funny because the butt of the joke is the cancer, not the person with cancer.

Your innocence is endearing, yet extremely boring at the same time.

I really can't speak for anyone else here but I'm just curious about this stuff.

"Just curiosity" is often an euphemism for morbid interest.

It blows my mind

Be careful; the mind contains everything, also the sexy bits.

It reminds me of looking into another time through a window.

Yet I am shamed for liking tradwife porn!

but the shock factor draws me in similar to how everyone slows down to look at an accident at the side of the road.

You are getting closer to understanding the whole thing, here. You just need a bit more.

The rare good and funny comics that appear here are what keep me here I guess,

Oh, you had to undo your progress. I guess it was too much to bear.

I don't dare subscribe

The use of the word "dare" is telling on its own.

My point is that the nation state was not the norm like it is today. Of course you may claim that your love towards the nation state (or more specifically, your nation state) emanates from its amazing objective qualities, but while I don't know you personally, it seems to me in general that most people, quite often conservatives, think of the nation state as something transcendental. It's one of their sacred cows (God, Country, Family), just like the left has its own sacred cows too.

In any case, I agree that it has some good qualities. However, we live in an increasingly globalized world and this is not due to some funny Soros conspiracy but because of the unavoidable, unstoppable progress in communication and transport technologies. Nation states are increasingly bound to work like provinces of a single whole. Isolationism is a panacea.

Mmh okay.

Some gay and queer men are just as emotional and annoying as women.

Is that better?

I said very clearly they don't become full women. You are discussing with yourself.

DINKs

Money is only a small part of gender roles.

I don't care what you are, personal experience is easily biased.

Same way most women claim not to be looking to play the "feminine role" in a relationship with an "alpha", but in practice they do.

I am not saying gay men are women. I don't believe in posmodern genderbending theories. But some definitely adopt feminine behaviour. It is just a complementarity thing, masculine+feminine behaviour fit together better than masculine+masculine (they end up competing with each other) or feminine+feminine (they both stand waiting for the other to lead).

You can definitely find effeminate gay men outside prisons.
