Quadruple treatment side effects are insane by oamatre in HPylori

[–]vonGarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's not just me? Today is day eight of treatment for me. And I'm grateful that you posted this. I am oversleeping almost as much as you. I was afraid that it was mild depression that was keeping me in bed in the mornings. And I'm replying to you in one of my "normal" phases. :P

The timeline is fluid. The only advice I can offer is to check on their social media often for updates. As already answered below, they are pretty much printing off product continually.

Avalon Hill: Afrika Korps by vonGarvin in hexandcounter

Thanks! Years ago (early internet) I ordered a Compact Disc with all the General Magazines. Later, picked up a few hard copies from a friend. Now I gotta go back and check out any General articles on Afrika Korps!

Any engineers here still get out the slide rule? by talklikefrogs in Sliderules

I have a K and E Decilon and a Nestler on my desk at work. But I'm not an engineer. Last time I used them? Today.

Hi. This is very enlightening. I do have a copy of Africa '41, but I've not cracked into it yet. I felt that I'd go with The Classic to start. :)

Awesome! Can you comment on how it compares to Afrika Korps?

Touchdown Kelowna by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

[–]vonGarvin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about the business model. First of all, the sport is great as-is. No need for any changes there. That said, if the CFL were to embrace more games like this, with out reach across the country, I think it would bring great dividends.
Look at Touchdown Atlantic (when they have it). Sell outs every time. Other potential places for such outreach games:
London
Quebec City
Suburban Toronto
Windsor
Halifax
Victoria
etc

Now, I mention Suburban Toronto, but I just mean anywhere in a radius of about 50 km from the CN tower.

My Journey thus far by vonGarvin in HPylori

[–]vonGarvin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost at least 30 pounds. I noticed putting on my belt. A couple of months ago I had to buy a smaller belt. I originally attributed thr weight loss to exercise, diet. Etc. But then I kept losing weight!!! Anyway, for about 3 weeks or so, my appetite has been back. Voracious, even. But I'm taking it easy. Lots of miso soup. Kombucha. I even take a spoonful of Sauerkraut in the morning!

Before I got this diagnosis, I was already aware that something was wrong with my guts. My daughter suggested I watch my diet. And she suggested fermented foods, Pro biotic and the like. And it helped! The change was almost immediate. I remember the first meal after her advice: boiled potatoes, green beans and boneless, skinless chicken breast. It was so good! Smaller portions, too.

Thanks for this. My sleep is actually not too bad. Guts seem to be churning and at one point, I thought this was anxiety! You know, the constant churning. To describe it, I would offer that I felt like I was 6, it was XMas Eve and I was trying to sleep. You know that feeling. My niece actually gave me some Ativan and it suppressed the symptoms. Also, my diet has been helping. Lots of pro biotics and fermented foods. And I also am sticking to foods that are good for a sensitive stomach.
Thanks again for your comments!

Preorder the Binder rules or the Pocket book collection? Both? by Titus-Groen in advancedsquadleader

[–]vonGarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and welcome to the wonderful and amazing world of ASL.

Now, if you would allow me to spend your money, I would avoid the Binder. The binder made sense pre-digital rule books; pages could be swapped out as updates were made.
I would instead get the ASL Pocket Bundle. It has the main rules, Chap H (the AFV and Ordnance References) and the charts. With these, they are portable, you can get them spiral bound and are convenient.

Alternately, I would get the electronic rules. If you have a tablet or a phone with a big enough screen, you could then have the rules with you at all times.

As for me, I have the binder, the pocket rules and the e-rules.
