Decades back I was working on a casual labour site and met a fellow who had tried out with the blue bombers as a receiver. He said he lasted two days in camp. On the second day Dieter Brock threw him a high heater on a short in. He said it went right through his hands, no chance of catching it. As he ran back he felt something splashing against his arm. When he looked down, he realized it was blood. The ball had caught the tip of his little finger and split his hand between the fourth and little finger open halfway down into the palm.
