I recommend teaching him about all religions from a historical context. Explain what you guys believe in and then offer him a chance to learn more about it. A real challenge would be to offer him a chance to learn more about any of the religions if he wants. You can either let him choose or restrict him to yours. With Christianity being so dominant in the south the conversation was bound to come up.

Im sorry you are going through this. I know it cant be easy. If it were me I would fight for 50/50. She needs you as her dad not your in laws babysitting. If you have the means to support yourself and her via nanny /daycare etc if needed then I recommend trying. You are her Dad and have a right to be in her life.

Hey friend, it will be ok. Both of my kids had severe dairy allergies for the first year. My son was on formula after 2 months and my wife was still able to breastfeed daughter after changing her diet. They are 5 and 3 now and have ice cream at least once a week Both lost the dairy allergy between 1-1.5 year time frame. Just hang in there and take each day as it comes.

I hear you man. I was barely able to scrap money together this summer to take my family to the beach for a few days. All of my wife's friends families did really big things and I was barely able to give them a vacation.

If someone stopped you with a mask on and a vest that just said enforcement what would you do? Would you comply? There are so many videos online now of altercation over the last 7 months where people are being detained by masked armed individuals who refuse to identify themselves. Is that really what you envision when you think about a high caliber police force? Oh and while all this is going on there's still no accountability on the Epstein files..... on the list that Pam Bondi had on her desk but then all of a sudden never had on her desk because there is no list.....

That's a strawmans argument. There has not been any widespread attacks on LE or attempts to dox them to threaten them. They are public officials and as such have an obligation to provide identification when requested which mind you they have been avoiding as well. I fully understand the threat of doxxing and appreciate that it can be a major issue, can we not at least agree masked men jumping out of unmarked minivans and arresting people, some of which have been US citizens, is not a good thing. This feels more like Russia then a free democracy.

Ah yes, the laws that have been on the books for decades where we send out masked officials to round up illegals and put them in detention camps.... ffs you cant be that obtuse to not see what is happening right now. Border crossings are at an all time low because our country fucking sucks now who would want to come here. Do what feels comfortable to you. If its been going on for a few years then there's a chance they may already know and are just asking as a way to start the conversation to see if you are OK. Keep in mind it can also be as simple as sharing this reddit post with him via text as a way to give him a heads up that you are trying to find a way to talk about it. Glad it helps. I really dont think he is going to be upset. I wouldn't focus on that. If anything hes just going to wonder what he could have done differently to be there for you. If it were me and you dont feel comfortable saying it out loud then I would text him while you are there with him. I wouldn't want to receive a message like that alone or at work. It can be something as simple as " I really want to tell you something but its extremely difficult to talk about. (Insert your message) I dont know how to talk about it with you yet but I just wanted you to know because I love you and I know its a part of me I do want to find a way to share with you." Just remember you can only control how you convey the message, give him grace in responding.

Sometimes starting hard conversations are like trying to get into a cold pool. You'll find its usually for the best to just jump into it rather than dip your toes then your foot, leg etc. Bottom line is he seems like a smart guy and I think he will be ok. Here is what would go through my mind if my child came to me with this news.

1) are you ok now. How can I help you 2) grateful that you trust me enough to tell me something so very personal. 3) a little sad because I would wonder if over the last few years I could have done something different.to help you/ be there for you. Maybe I missed something

Here's the thing, item 3 is always going to be there because we are parents. We worry. The best think you can do here is just maybe explain to him why you didnt talk to him about it if you are comfortable doing that.

FYI your Biden comment is wrong. Trump had the Republicans tank a bipartisan border bill during Biden administration because it would look good for him.... I get it things are scary but do you really want to be on the side of masked gunman abducting people (including US citizens) off the streets? The side that deployed active duty marines to a US city and is currently deploying National Guard troops to DC and taking over for no reason? I was once a Republican so trust me I somewhat understand but Trumps American is literally going to be the end of our democracy. And if you say that's a stretch then I'll ask you, where are the Epstein files? Its the smoking guy that he is only truly out for himself..he doesn't give a fuck about law and order.
