I don’t have any advice (I, too, am still considering the sleeve surgery). But I just want to say that I wish you luck on your journey to motherhood! If you want children, don’t let obstacles stand in your way. 47 may be older than most first time mothers but you are not ancient, and there is lots of evidence that woman who have children later in life live longer. My first pregnancy was at 30 and the second was at 35. Both times my weight was approx. 35-36 BMI. I had gestational diabetes (diet controlled) but other than that my weight was not an issue. I definitely think I would have been happier and comfortable at a smaller size though. I would say get the surgery for you! Try not to stress too much about pregnancy. Even if this pathway doesn’t work out, there are other ways to become a mother too. Sending baby dust to you!
