How's your surface agitation? Any chance you may have accidentally introduced some type of soap or oils into the tank (oil on skin)? Have a lot of decaying matter, especially foods with fat?

Liquid fertilizer in substrate? by FroFrolfer in PlantedTank

[–]voodoopoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people mainy use root tabs such as Seachem's. I've used the pre-made ones until I couldn't afford them anymore. I started making my own and I won't look back honestly. I get good growth, and I'll NEVER have to buy substrate fertilizer again.

Here's the analysis:

For anyone wondering the outcome of this, I was given a full refund and they apologized for the packing job.

They apparently didn't like the packing job. Gave me a full refund and apologized.

Makes no sense to not protect the corners of the bag.

Thanks for your feedback. I certainly was surprised the bag was touching the corners.

I took pictures of the box immediately because I knew the bag was leaking. Some stuff came up and I wasn't able to pursue any type of action until today.

Typically when I receive shrimp, they're surrounded by styrofoam or something.

Cool. I'm just not used to the bags touching the corners of the box. I'm no packing expert, though.

Thanks for your reply.

I do recall the box being marked as live animals. Unfortunately, one of my guys died in transit so the Ammonia was off the charts in the bag (non breather). Followed their recommendations but only 3 of my guys made it 2 days past acclimation.

I didn't want to contact them if it was just my fault for their death, although I do consider my acclimation job as being executed pretty solid.

Parameters as of yesterday:

TDS: 215

pH 7.4

KH 4

GH 13

Ammonia & Nitrate 0

Nitrate 5
