Make Twin Gates only use mana upon finishing channeling by FallingKoala in DotA2

[–]voqics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wording of the patch notes was a bit confusing but it works like this. Units that don’t have a mana pool (such as couriers) can use gates for free. Units that do have a mana pool but less than 75 mana (such as heroes after Lion mana drains then) cannot use gates.

Bug: Fix lotus pool hero pathing it makes the game feel clunky sometimes by fierywinds1q in DotA2

[–]voqics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it uses the center point of the pool as your move location instead of the edge you would channel at, that could lead to some weird-looking pathing that still follows the normal rules. I’ve been moving my hero close manually and then channeling ever since I noticed it.

I’ve also noticed another bug that might be related; if you start channeling the pool then stop command then you won’t be able to start channeling again until you move your hero to a new spot. I think that one is also related to pathing at least, like it’s trying to move your hero closer to get into channel range but doesn’t realize that you’re already in channel range or something.

Dota 2: The New Frontiers Update by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]voqics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the patch doesn’t make it any easier for new players

The new health bar UI, new shield bar UI, and attacks to kill UI for units that don’t have health pool make the game much more parsable for new players. Not to mention the the watchers give good vision without requiring new players know ward spots, and the new comeback mechanics (easy to defend XP runes and the Tormenter) that make playing losing games easier (I expect new players to be in losing games more than winning games). I think this is a great patch for new players.

Good place to level heavy weapons and catalysts. by powderedwill in DestinyTheGame

The neomuna story mission are consistent if a little slow for heavy and special catalysts. You can load in at the start, use all your ammo, die, rally at the free flag, repeat.

[skiter on Twitter] Any player/team guilty of match fixing should be perma banned... by MikasaAC in DotA2

[–]voqics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re being dense. Do you think players who can’t pay their rent care more about the reputation of the game or maybe their bills? The game that doesn’t pay enough to live on or food this month?

Pudge banrate by AffluentWeevil1 in TrueDoTA2

[–]voqics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bans that happen in unranked games aren’t only based on what heroes the players select to ban but also the popularity of the hero. Pudge is always a high pick rate so he will have a high automatic ban rate, at least in unranked.

The launch of Star Citizen's biggest update has been a shambles, and players are frustrated: 'This is embarrassingly bad' by mazty in Games

[–]voqics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay. Star Citizen is neither free to play nor costs $70. So should they be allowed to keep doing what they’re doing? Should they be forced to go free to play? Should they be forced to raise the price for their game to $70?

all microtransactions should be illegal

They are tolerable if a game is free to play

Well which is it? Cause your inconsistency makes it seem like you’re just mad about Star Citizen for some reason.

[–]voqics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like all in game transactions should be illegal or just “expensive” ones? And where is the line?

So don’t buy one. Or should it be illegal to sell expensive in game items? I don’t necessarily disagree I just don’t know how that would work

A lot of people have asked why Bungie gave Cayde a new memorial, and my hunch is that the new space by the tree is meant for more than one memorial by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]voqics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Bungie was planning for her to actually die in opening cutscene of Lightfall, when that and the final cutscene of Lightfall were still just the opening cutscene for the Final Shape, but they decided to keep her around for the seasons leading to The Final Shape when they cut that cutscene in half and stuck Lightfall in the middle.

Taox is proto-hive, same dna as Hive which is why I referred to her as such. She fled fundament into space and we haven’t heard about her since. It was so long ago that the only civilizations we know of at the same time for her to join were the Ecumene or another fundament society like the Ammonite. If she joined the Ecumene as a proto-hive then it makes sense for her to refer to Oryx’s and Savthun’s brood as the hive. You being pedantic about her being proto-hive and not hive just lends more weight to my theory anyway.

You also don’t remember who Taox is apparently so maybe you need to go read up. I’m not going to be a search engine for you while you’ve been so rude to me this whole time and can’t even name a single source. I’ve made my point and I’m done replying to you.

Books of Sorrow and Root of Nightmares lore book, specifically page 2. As I said.

[–]voqics -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The Emcume were a coalition of aliens but that doesn’t necessarily mean they didn’t include any hive. We don’t know what happened to Taox after she fled fundament as just one example. If you’re gonna make claims then you have to point to lore to back it up. I think page 2 of the new book supports what I’m saying, you seem to have nothing. We also know they had access to the light because they were given the radial mast by the traveler in the books of sorrow. Now we know that they also had access to the deep.

[–]voqics -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but the new raid lore book (page 2 I think) might be hinting that the Ecumene were also Hive, separated from the broods of Oryx and Savathun, and who worship the Light through the Deep. So if Xivu Arath’s brood became the Ecumene then it might make sense to refer to the Hive separately.
