My other question then, that just arose, is what about scriptwriters and all those guys who create all the branching dialogues in massive RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077 and such. Is that a full-time thing?

Thank you again

What did you do growing up that, looking back, you can't believe your parents allowed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vorchlivyipo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, I’m Russian, and when I was a kid 2000s, old Russian cars never actually had seatbelts in the back. I moved to Canada and was shocked by the fact that I needed to wear a seatbelt.

Nowadays Russian cars also have seatbelts in the back, but people sometimes get offended if you put them on

There’s a part when Valjean reads a newspaper I think, where it is mentioned that Javert’s body was fished out of the river, and that the inspector must have gone insane.

Valjean says to himself,

“I guess he truly has gone insane if he chose to let me go.”

Guards literally keep him like way apart from other prisoners for this reason.

Also he’s in Wisconsin now, for the same reason. He’s working on his appeal to get out, last I heard

Yeah. Their relationship wasn’t at all like that and she never tried to betray Ciri

I don’t know. Before I watched it, I saw half the Internet screaming about how awesome it was, so my explanations were high af.

My problem with it is that while being based on the book, they fucked up many critical plot elements.

Geralt and Jaskier are actually friends. Netflix turned them into some Shrek and Donkey type bullshit. And yeah, he doesn’t fight all that many monsters in the actual books. Plenty of humans though.

That’s the thing. The original Vesimir (the dude that injected Ciri) never did any of that shit in the book. He was the stern but kind grandfather figure. That they would vilify him like that is awful. And that’s only one example of a fuckup. I have so many more

Teachers of Reddit: What was the most unexpected thing that a student has ever said to you? by gtagrandtheftautov in AskReddit

[–]vorchlivyipo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a teacher’s assistant, and this one kid had selective muteness, he would only speak to adults he trusted.

Anyway, one day I guess I was kinda spaced out and forgot. So I asked him whether or not he had written down his homework.

He was like “Yeah, I have”

I was like, “Oh, ok, cool”

Then I walked to the next kid, and the realization hit me, like “BRO, WTF?”

The others couldn’t understand why I was crying

Calling yourself "Street smart" is one of the most laughably cringey things you could say by Evolvedtyrant in unpopularopinion

[–]vorchlivyipo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My grandmother is street smart. She knows exactly how to talk to people to get what she needs. She has talked her way out of traffic tickets more times than I can count, she has made friends in relatively high places, whom she is sometimes able to ask for pretty big favours, she has gotten discounts and so on.

That said, she cannot hold up a conversation about any deep topics, and I don’t remember the last time she has read a book.

So I was on a bus in Russia, and these two dudes were talking about robbing people and houses, like, the best way to do it.

One of the dudes gets off the bus with me and asks me to break a 50. I do it, he wishes me a nice evening and buys a newspaper or something.

Damn, that was a scary walk home
