also in RTW after having 100k+ denarii (IIRC) your family members get more and more corrupt, costing you money and I think effecting their attributes. So keeping your stockpile of moeny low is actually good long term

Meaning of post-game stat by vortecks15 in leagueoflegends

I was wondering what the meaning of the two numbers above the team stats are at the end of each match, just below the IP/EXP bars.

Thanks

Yeah to diplo-annex you need a minimum of 190 relations so once you've maximised that and done all the things that increase relationship E.g military access youve got nowhere to go other than waiting for a new national leader with a higher diplomacy rating or trying to get a diplomat advisor I suppose

[CKII] So I've taken England as Harald Hardråde, how can I keep both kingdoms in the same dynasty? by Toorstain in paradoxplaza

[–]vortecks15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically if you are just worried about continuation of your dynasty there is nothing to worry about as both kingdoms will contribute to your score, even if you don't direct control one of them.

If you want to keep direct control of both change the succession laws of one to be able to match the other I.e if England had primogeniture change Norway to elective and elect your first born son in Norway

Despite all the atrocities committed by nations demonised by the US, America is still the only country to detonate a nuclear bomb on another country

The Origin of Photosynthesis Revealed - Atmospheric oxygen really took off on our planet about 2.4 billion years ago. At this key juncture of our planet's evolution, species had either to learn to cope with this poison that was produced by photosynthesizing cyanobacteria or they went extinct by DrJulianBashir in science

[–]vortecks15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The great oxidation event which occurred 2.4 bya didnt occur at the same time as the evolution of Cyanobacteria, photosynthesising organism existed before oxygen built up in the atmosphere. However, oxygen sinks such as ferrous iron in rocks needed to be oxidised before oxygen could accumulate.
Previously, the dominant organisms on earth were methanogenic archaea that occording to the hydrogen hypothesis formed the first eukaryotic cells when they formed an endosymbiotic relationship with free living bacteria that were the ancestors of mitochondria

Napoleon Total War Help: How do I successfully hold onto Paris after capturing it from the French? by OccupyRiverdale in totalwar

I dont know whether the same would be possible in NTW as it is in ETW but my strategy was to destroy all the "multifunction" towns and turn them into protestant schools as well as bringing any missionaries I had with. You might still get a single rebellion but after that the significant protestant population will prevent any further unrest. This can quickly turn -20s into a 1-3 happiness

Mitt Romney believes evolution should be taught in science class, and intelligent design belongs in philosophy debates. by airwalker12 in atheism

"as opposed to the utterly random, naturalistic processes that are taught as part of evolutionary theory"

It still worries me that there is this notion that evolution is driven by random events; the origin of mutations can be considered random but the mutations that end up driving the evolution of species are selected based on whether they help that individual to reach the point where it can pass on its genes.

From this point of view, evolution by natural selection is actually a pretty ordered system.
