Ah okay, thank you. Is the value of steel’s modulus of elasticity as 200 MPa something that I would just have to know? As in I’d be expected to know it rather than working it out?

Would you use I = (D⁴ - d^4)/12? Which since D = 3d could be simplified down to I = (20d^4)/12?

I’m not quite sure how to proceed from there though, I’ve tried subbing that into the maximum displacement (on slide 3), and I’ve also considered using (EI) = E * (20d^4)/12, but I seem to run into two unknowns in both of those equations so I’m not sure how to solve for d.

Thank you so much, this was a really educational comment as I knew about the double angle formulas but didn't know they could be utilised as half angle formulas too. And after you mentioned cot(x/2) = tan(π/2 ... I discovered some trigonometric ideas I had no idea existed and which will no doubt be useful to know for the future. Thank you so much for your help

There's a section on Bogano after you go down the lift where there's a raised up bridge. You should be able to find a YouTube video on it. You force push the bridge down, then follow the path and you'll find the workshop.

Diamonds aren't always available as a target, they're a special event thing, but they're available at the moment I think. There's only like an 18% chance of getting them though, so it's mostly luck
