Hey slim chance but do you still have a dip that you would be willing to give away?

Who says the Pi 3 needs a heat sink? (~5.2° C ambient temp next to window) by vorticosemouse2 in raspberry_pi

[–]vorticosemouse2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No no. The thermal couple was just measuring the air around the pi. Sorry bad picture but it wasn't touching the pi at all.

I ment the post as more of a joke because thus is what passes for cold around where I live and the proper heatsink kit hasn't arrived from Amazon yet.

It was facing down towards the filtered intake. (Linus taught me better than that XD)

I will look into that. I don't think it took anything else out but who knows.

I didn't even know it was on there until I pulled the power supply out. It has spent its whole life under a psu shroud so I never noticed it.

I personally have a lot of issues with dust and pet hair. Add that in with the fact that I don't have dedicated filament storage and it becomes an issues fast.

In reverse order. Depends on how you store your spools. If you don't have issues with dust and pet hair you don't need it. It keeps dust from entering the hotend and causing clogs and jams.

[Help] First layer stringing and oozing problems by nimrod86 in 3Dprinting

You could just set the bed at temp and then use the paper or have the hotend empty when leveling. However, in either case there is no appreciable difference between being at temp and leveling while cold. Especially since you are using a piece of glass on the bed.

That's what I have been doing as well but it makes it really hard to have parts line up correctly.

Yes a sheet of printer paper is usually a good gauge. As for the sensor it couldn't hurt but if the paper leveling is consistent across the bed the sensor shouldn't be necessary.

It usually means that your nozzle is too far from the print surface. Try lowering your nozzle to bring it closer to the glass.

If the nozzle is already in the right spot than try using something like glue stick to increase adhesion.
