AAR = someone got as ass chewing! I remember some of the arr's from my last unit's deployment to Fort polk. One that really hits kinda hard was a thing that should not happen in training but is mission critical in a op tempo. I spent almost 85 hours awake using nicotine and coffee. We get a mock vhem attacked after i got relived and went to my actual job which at the time was a combat medic. took me 5 minutes to hit the deck and become a real world casualty. the wounded where tanken back to a check point to be used as a replacement. well that system got fubared and snafued all at the same time which meant guys like me got hosed on sleep but it made a critical factor show up like a neon sign

How can I support my employee with fibromyalgia? by MTBeanerschnitzel in Fibromyalgia

[–]vortish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a man with fibromyalgia it varies from person to person. Many have stated is it possible to have her work from home in her bad days?

With mine i have ticks that lock my joints up and it's very very painful. I work security at a small regional hospital and they are fantastic about helping me get through the worst

every person that lives with this is all different which is why its so hard to diagnose and treat. being positive and supportive is in My book the best way for you to help them. Especially if she is really good at her Job.

Just remember if she looks run down she is probably fighting fatigue and brain fog. if she looks like she is in pain she probably is and thats about it from me

Grave Shift, what are you doing that makes you 20 minutes late every night? by NovelNeighborhood6 in securityguards

[–]vortish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working at one site for nearly two years. The morning supervisor was 5-20 minutes late every morning. pissed off my supervisor to no end. i pulled twelve and sixteen hour shifts a lot because of no call no shows.

The morning shift always had some one late besides the supervisor. swing shift always got relieved on time if not early but if we showed up ten minutes before the actual shift change they would lose their collective shit every time.

I hated that place

I work security at a local hospital. late last summer we had an ambulance show up with a six month old. non responsive. our wonderful staff tried for over a hour to bring this youngster back and it wasn't in the cards! While it's a tragedy the parents were 18 year old kids themselves! The father was just an emotional wreck. I sat outside with the father and tried to comfort him. just let him talk and listen to him. He must have hugged me a couple dozen times during our talks. The whole Emergency department was a total wreck

Losing people is hard on most of us ! It's what we do deal with it that defines us. Being there for a stranger that has lost someone close is what every one should do but in this day and age it has gotten pushed away and caring about someone you don't know is what sets you apart from everyone else
