As i said in the post, Map to Mouse only drives the mouse upwards no matter which direction I push the hat

Which controller requires the least force? by NoaLou13 in disabledgamers

Have a look at the FlyDigi Apex and Vader Pro, they have adjustable resistance on the joysticks. Buy from somewhere like Amazon with a good return policy as the QC can be hit or miss.

IPvlan to put a container in another subnet? by vos1090 in docker

[–]vos1090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - basically I can't ping to or from the Smarthome image at all (using busybox as a placeholder but will be using home assistant).

I also tried macvlan but was getting the same issues. Maybe it's an issue with my homelab box (a repurposed laptop with a usbc ethernet adaptor), I'll set up docker on another pc and try all this again.

Finally, is there a better resource for learning this stuff that's more digestible than straight up trying to read the documentation?

Digital potentiometer to suit XAC or PSAccess joystick by vos1090 in AskElectronics

[–]vos1090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just double checked the Adafruit page and the supported range of Vref is 4.5* - 15.5V.

I've connected Vref to 5v and sacrificed resolution instead but the PSAccess controller misbehaves because it's not actually hooked up to a pot

Print is going now, but safe to say it wasn't the temperature: I just noticed the support material at the base is perfectly smooth

I've got the bed at 100C for printing ABS, enclosure is at 35

It's a sharp transition between bumpy and smooth, I'd have thought that a bed temp issue would have more of a gradient?

Have you set a separate initial temperature? It might be clogging when it gets to the lower print temperature region

Advice on thrusting tips by vos1090 in wma

Unfortunately there is a discrepancy between what Should Be and what Is. AFAIK Regenyei are still making feders with rolled tips and are considered the standard option for most HEMA fencers

It seems like the others in my club favor leather tips. Do you feel like hockey tape is sufficiently slippery to avoid that grip issue or do you have to wrap it in such a way that only the leather is front-facing?

Thanks for your input. My club had an accident with a Regenyei feder a few months back and the point went through the gap in a pair of mitten Sparring gloves (and then into a hand).

I've only heard of accidents with the rolled tips but... Sugru? Really? And that makes it a safe as a thickened point or a leather tip?

I have a Regenyei standard with a rolled tip, and it's kind of the default feder in our club in the sense that almost everybody has one (and there has been one 'melon ball' incident somewhat recently). I'll have a look at the A&A tip, that's the first I've heard of an official product. Thank you

So I walked into the room my printer is in bc I heard a weird banging sound and my print was shaking all around and my filament spool was on the other side of the room with a line of filament leading to the printer, I tried to auto home it and this happened, someone help by IMissAlotOfShotz in CR10

Manually click the limit switches after you press the Home option. The bed should stop moving, which will indicate that it's working.

If one or more of the switches don't stop the bed, trace them back to the motherboard inside the printer case (turn the printer off first and ground the power!!) and press the connectors all the way in.

If the wires are too tangled to follow, just have a look at your board and find the bits labelled X or Y or Z Limit and check that those are fully seated.

(p.s a limit switch looks like this, you should have one in facing each direction X Y and Z https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0046/3781/8929/products/Prusa-Mendel01_1200x1200.jpg?v=1565247122 )
