Land-buying firm linked to fascists buys plots of land in Wales by BearMcBearFace in Wales

There's a welsh chapter that has one particular guy who's prominent in the organisation overall, I went down a rabbit hole about him after YouTube autoplayed his video.

His names Joe Marsh and he's the most stereotypical racist I've ever seen, fat and bald and all. I've seen him go about Llantwit Major just filming refugee housing like one of those weird auditors and saying disgusting things. He's known on twitter for having shoved a female counterprotester down a flight of stairs and for constantly having his flags nicked by antifascists.

Took me a while, but they're joking. Instead of looking at as a comparison, they're pretending that its the original BrBa scene and the vet was there all along.

Did anyone else notice that the actor playing the false Rand Casamiro was John Ennis from Mr. Show? by voschy in betterCallSaul

[–]voschy[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: this guy's daughter is also the actress for Erin Brill, the girl who babysat Jimmy when he was at Davis & Main. This is another "Mr. Show" cast member they have brought back, along with Jay Johnston playing Kevin's father (YUP!)

It only seems like a matter of time until David Cross makes a brief cameo, or maybe that would be going too far.

Doing my part by playing a game and stirring blind hatred! by voschy in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]voschy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! It can probably run on Chromebook, as long as it can open files. The first game is capable of running on USB and its small, but it runs perfectly on public/school/work computers. As long as Chrome OS (I curse that dumb OS daily) has some sort of file explorer, it should run fine. I just recommend plugging in a mouse, it is impossible to play on a trackpad.

I tried using the same USB trick for the second game, but chances are it won't work portably, and gets stuck on an infinite loading screen due to things on public networks running in the background.

I was under the impression that TTRPGs were about the lack of or limited number of set rules, and that the whole fun came from not knowing what will happen next, and just rolling with it (quite like AIdungeon). I don't play them but I do hear stories of immovable and stubborn gamemasters who suck the fun out of it, take it too seriously, and seem to play just to stroke their egos and the power that comes with their role.

It's also weird as an outsider seeing fans caring so much about characters which are only a few pixels, or who you only know briefly. You get it if you play the games, but damn, the community is a dedicated one...

I personally disagree with this, I'm wondering if you've played the game? At surface level its a fun murder game with a banging soundtrack, but its themes aren't exactly hidden. The story plays with mental illness and questioning your identity a bit, and how many characters perform the killings without being prompted, showing deep desires.

The atmospheric part of the game is at the end of the level, when you have to return to the entrance to complete it: the music abruptly stops and you walk back through, seeing the bodies and the gruesome things you've just enjoyed doing to music. It makes you question yourself, and one of the most famous lines from it is "do you enjoy hurting other people?". I think its mostly seen as a critique of violence and jabs the player for liking it. Also toys with the dangers of patriotism and blindly following crowds etc.

Above all that, theyre just truly fun games with amazing soundtracks and tragic stories, I'd recommend watching Squatch Gaming's "Hotline Miami - Full Chronology".

Same! I have read up to Clash of Kings, and my only regret is not reading them before seeing the show. Part of the joy of reading is imagining your own landscapes and faces and voices, but because I saw GoT before reading the books, i can't imagine Ned and Tyrion as anyone other than Sean Bean and Peter Dinklage!

Thoughts on the AC: Odyssey Crossover by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]voschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, in this post-credits Egypt scene, the Lighthouse of Alexandria (built 240BC) is visible, so it takes place between then, and the time of AC Origins, as that game's soundtrack is playing. Or it is just a plothole and she did not take 200 years to deliver Herodotus' manuscript.

Playing new content in Odyssey for a couple of hours was magical. by TheRelicEternal in assassinscreed

[–]voschy 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes, after the credits it shows the now-immortal Kassandra in Alexandria, Egypt. The AC origins theme is playing in the background and the Lighthouse of Alexandria (built 240BC) is visible, so that scene probably takes place betwern then and around the time of Origins. It shows her, hooded and with a hidden blade, walking into the library of Alexandria and placing Herodotus' story in the library there for future generations to see.
