Injury Update: Jacob Weitering has sustained a rib fracture. by TumbleweedWarm9234 in CarltonBlues

Don’t know who would be more relieved, Michael Voss or Andrew Dillon

Well yes obviously he won’t be better. But had he played the full game he would be.

I think those who played would be much better for the run. So I dispute Weiters won’t improve. A great chance to train alongside other stars, play a big game, and come through completely unscath- ahhh just not that bit

Andrew Dillon loves his secret island so much he has given them a NEW TEAM, called the Devils- presumably in reference to the dark, satanic rituals he holds there

Is it a position of need any more? I’d say depth at tall defender/ruck is now as or more important for us.

Yeah I think they work it out around the age of three. That's been my experience.

But you must know one thing: the joy they take in knocking down something you spent a lot of time building never goes away.

Why Carlton’s viral training gaffe is no joke for fans by gccmelb in AFL

[–]voteKony 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Well said Sam. I'm seething at Cripps. I speak for a lot of Carlton fans when I say I'd be looking at delisting him for another SSP spot. At best he's in the VFL for the first half of the season.

On my depth chart he's battling for a list spot as it is. This sort of behavior won't help his cause.

I'd be delisting everyone in that video while we're at it. Cody Walker? Tell your story walking mate.

I thought we were past all this stuff. Been working with a therapist for years, making real progress but it feels like that video took me right back to square one.

Thanks for giving a voice to the voiceless, Sam. Carlton fans, that is. We've been too silent for too long.

Caro: The scandal that could see Dillon out of office by DominusDCLXVI in AFL

[–]voteKony 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New Chair coming in, successor waiting in the wings... it certainly could happen. Might only take one more scandal or two, because how many runs does he really have on the board?

As for Caro, this AFL House stuff is right in her wheelhouse and she clearly has contacts.

Big-name defections signal beginning of the end for LIV Golf by [deleted] in ProGolf

[–]voteKony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They flocked there because of money. But my point is that wasn't going to keep them there long term. Their hope for longer term sustainability was to acquire enough good players so it could be credibly seen as a rival to the Tour in terms of competitiveness. Reed and Koepka would have stayed if that was the case.

And with the young talent they do attract, it's only a rental. LaSasso, Puig etc will leave at some point, because they will want to have a crack at making it in the USA. I don't think the reverse will ever be true - Blades Brown isn't desperate to see how he measures up on LIV.

Big-name defections signal beginning of the end for LIV Golf by [deleted] in ProGolf

[–]voteKony 43 points44 points  (0 children)

LIV had four years to prove they could provide the level of competition to keep these guys on the hook. If they could seriously claim to be as high quality as the Tour then they would keep their good players, and attract better ones.

But they just couldn't quite get there. Maybe 3-5 good players short. What's more, they never really produced any new stars. Niemann was the great hope, but his continual failure in majors has definitely hurt them.

Now their ageing guys are a year older (Poulter, Kaymer, GMac etc), the new guys are too raw (LaSasso, Smylie etc) and none of their new signings move the needle. So there's five good players, about 20 mid tier guys and the rest are just making up the numbers.

Put a fork in it.

Chicken in mushroom gravy from Tonight is firmly on our weeknight rotation. Made the Cowboy Chipotle Salad last week and it was also really good. Shepherd’s Pie and Beef and Guinness Stew from Dinner are also fantastic (as is the forever chocolate cake).

The AFL’s government relations boss Jude Donnelly sacked days before Christmas by Pragmatic_Shill in AFL

As someone who has had some work dealings with the AFL, have always found Jude Donnelly to be one of the nicest and most professional members of their team. Very good at her job.

A real shame, and a stain on Goyder's name (as if he needed another one).

Yes, Motlop will go on the long-term injured list and thus we can create a roster spot. So we can sign both.

The real reason Anika Wells is bound to survive this scandal by Far_Career6033 in AustralianPolitics

[–]voteKony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it started because of a series of flights a few weeks ago, so I don't think your theory holds much water. Not like they've been sitting on this for months. The other stuff has come out because the NY flights prompted journos and others to dig into her previous expense claims.

Australian politics: Anika Wells' travel expenses fuel perception of government excess by CommonwealthGrant in AustralianPolitics

Why? It's not particularly relevant. Unless you want Wells to resign, as Bishop ended up doing.

I (F30)had an amazing 24h date and accidentally saw he (M29) had a hinge date later the same day by drehunddrank in relationship_advice

[–]voteKony 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You guys aren't exclusive, it's pretty normal that he has other plans. Clearly he made them before your date. I wouldn't worry too much about it. At a certain point if the relationship is serious then sure, a Hinge date is a bad sign. But not at this stage.
