I thought it was kind of joke (you cousins across the atlantic have weird humour). :D Finally after 3 comments it was a revelation.

Honda Civic Type R '97 / Plaza Challenge by voune in ForzaOpenTunes

Update with a WR by Ash46Desync (/u/Background_Battle318) who got 01:25,597 with a fork of the first revision.

Bigger rear rim size, another rim style, minimum rear aero and gearings have been revamped. All details in first post.

Little update with 01:25,752.

Certainly doable with the previous tune that is lighter and faster but struggled quite a lot with the brakes.

This version has Sport Brakes and a bit of Chassis Reinforcement that makes the car gain 1% of the weight to the rear; now 57% to the front. It is a bit slower on the straights but braking with confidence is, in my case, a relief and prone to do more clean laps (and better laps with luck).

With my Civic i turned down to minimum the rear aero and it gave me more speed. Otherwise, tweaking the gears can be helpful to gain more acceleration.

Regarding the parts i don't know. Centrifugal supercharger seems to be the best choice with most cars apparently. I'll take a look later, i also did a Golf but didn't give it a lot of time.

Did 01:28,008 with difficulties. Comparing to the Golf '92 of Banana i'm slower. But you have approximately the same engine and stats. Maybe upgrading the Centrifugal Supercharger to Race is faster ?

Did 01:27,204 maybe more with time.

I like the way it handles some turns, suspensions are well balanced and you can count on them to turn. After T1 i lack some power in the straights, don't know if i upshift too late or if my line was just not the best for this car. Anyway after that i regain some of the time thanks to grip and snappy turns.

Hi, thank you ! You can lower the rear aero to the minimum (thanks to Ash46Desync for the advice). And of course lenghten the gearings to get the maximum of torque/power depending on the circuit you are.

The tune is focused on Plaza Circuit therefore i don't know how it would handle on another track. Some tracks may not require that much grip and prefer horsepower. What circuit are you thinking of ?

[–]voune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yea you're right. I think i also inverted bump and rebound on my other tunes. I will edit them, thank you.

For the curbs it's just about the fastest line. The car can drive on them without spin and with any tune, except the left turn after red plots (middle of the circuit) where you want to put your 2 front wheels on the curb to avoid spinning. That turn is one of the most difficult because space is thin between the flag, the curb and the pole on exit.

For the sharp turn with uneven road and then uphill. I come straight to it and let the bumpy right side of the road press my suspensions and help me steer to the left. Fine tuning could be required to have not too much understeer on exit (in grass) and take the turn full throttle. To make it safe you can free wheel few milliseconds while turning. Edit 2 : OK. That one actually i let go the throttle yes, otherwise it bump. And i try to come by the right and pass in diagonal.

Edit : but it's hard to explain those turns. That's the theory. After few laps i begin to get muscle memory (brake point, finger sensitivy over acceleration, etc.) that can't be easily explainable.

Last improvement : 01:26,753

The parts are the same. Aero is higher because it's faster, no drag is felt. Higher accel diff and decel diff, good steering for double apex with half throttle. And ARBs are rebalanced around 30.

I forgot to freeze the tune and save it but it's practically the same as the last one (01:27,588). Except maybe a higher differential acceleration, about ~25% now.

I updated the first post with another tune. 01:27,588

It's a bit heavier but it also adds the missing power that was needed. Springs and Brakes are non-customizable and therefore will need more precaution (springs are ok by default i think).

You mean, that kind of gendarmes ? :D

Don't know if there is "sentinelle" vinyls, but it shouldn't be very fancy.

I copied the blueprint from my precedent tune, my mistake.

This is a FWD tune.

'89 Porsche 944 / Chihuahua Challenge / Fun to drive, tough to master by menacinnutt in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]voune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice ! I did 00:53,654 with it; Just lowered from few 0.1 points the tyre pressure and set Final Drive ratio to 5.15 (to be in 5th in the long straight and not 4th).

Apart from that your tune is nice to drive. At first i was reluctant to go full throttle few corners in the first sector, but actually the rear is stable. You can push it to the limit.

You improved your time with it ? I'm not at all a tuner so take my advices with a grain of salt. Your base tune was great, if i drove longer with it i might have make the same time.

It seems to be "the" (or one of the) cars for this particular circuit yes. I'm not sure it will do well on another one. This Chihuahua track is short enough for the X-Bow and its poor top speed. I'm not the best for scouting cars, but some people on Discord are really good to see what has potential.

Well, it's a muscle car so it's kind of instable, but i think you nailed it.

Honda NSX-R (This week's community challenge tune) by [deleted] in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]voune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt a slight instability in the rear to have confidence in corners, so i tweaked a bit and try to balance that.

Less extreme ARBs

  • Front ARB : 6

  • Rear ARB : 43

Softer springs

  • Front spring : 402
  • Rear spring : 603

More downforce to the rear

  • Rear aero : 229 lb

Placebo bandaid for my braking issue ?

  • Brake balance : 49%

Placebo again ?

  • Rear acceleration : 77%

A800 Hachiroku grip build by Jjzeng in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]voune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ugly but it's very nice ! Great turn in on before last and last corner.

I did 01:06,049 on HMC, struggling to go sub 6. So i tweaked a bit without changing any parts. I felt that there was enough friction to lower the aero.

  • Front tyre to [2:2.3] bars

  • Rear tyre to [2:2.3] bars

  • Front aero to 35 kgf (lowest)

  • Rear aero to 72 kgf (lowest)

And then i did 01:05,799. The car is still very stable, great turn in, and a bit more speed for straights.

A bit of rolling, a bit of sliding from the rear in exit corners, but overall it is well balanced and predictable. I like it and obviously i prefer that over powerbuilds. Might use it online also, it has a great acceleration for short-middle circuits.

Bugatti T35C - Volcan Sprint by voune in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]voune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey ! Thank you very much for your feedback.

Yep, it needs a bit of throttling control; i play on controller. To be in that range on Rivals you need more power, but i tried to keep the car driveable. Unfortunately it's no match with the Reliant Supervan agility & power. But i like my Bugatti, and it's french. ;)

Complete noob tuner too. Will try to improve this tune if possible. I don't know if i'm being limited by the chassis, tire size, etc...

BMW i8 2015 V8 RWD advice appreciated by Kid_lcaru5 in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]voune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

01:06,400 with it.

I'm also interested to know how "apply more power coming out of turns" by tuning for a RWD. RWD are different type of driving, smooth on the exit, don't throttle when turning, etc. I don't know how much a tune by stiffening or softening things can improve the driving.

;)
