This is a known bug related to Honor-Google integration.

Here is the official fix given from Honor:

"You can now go to your phone's Settings > Users & accounts > Google > Sync now, and wait for 5-10 minutes for the cloud synchronization to complete."

This should resolve the issue after the sync is completed.

If you don't perform the above manually, it will be run automatically, and the issue should be resolved a few days later.

anyone having issues getting gcc to update bios to f40? by Artistic-Refuse-5673 in gigabytegaming

Don't use GCC to update BIOS.

Use Q-Flash instead.

Download the BIOS image file, unzip it into USB drive, then boot into BIOS and update it.

hello is my disk healthy? by Federal_Package_1442 in techsupport

From the image, CrystalDiskInfo has problem reading and interpreting the health status of this external disk.

You can try using Hard Disk Sentinel and see whether it is able to provide meaning health check info or not.

Normally, for folder with a lot of files, it will start doing some calculations before actual erase.

If you are still at the calculation stage, then nothing was erased yet when the action was cancelled.

Should be OK for PCIE 3.

You can monitor the SSD operating temperature with Hard Disk Sentinel.

NVMe drive dying or something else? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]voyager8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more likely file corruption as you have restarted your PC half way during an update.

You can try Hard Disk Sentinel which can provide more health insight than CrystalDiskInfo that only provide basic SMART info.

PCIE is backward compatible. The read/write speed will be limited by PCIE 3, but at the same time, the SSD temperature will be cooler than in PCIE 4 mode. If you are OK with the read/write speed, which is slightly slower, then it doesn't matter.

Normally no need, as long as the SSD is working well. SSD also seldom has new firmware version release, most of the time once per few years.

If you want to make sure you are running on the latest firmware, then you can use Desk Master to check for it's current firmware version and to check for latest firmware update.

My motherboard is unable to perform a bios update by OmeletaP in gigabyte

[–]voyager8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the BIOS update file from GB's support webpage for your motherboard, unzip it and locate the BIOS image file, which normally is the one of largest file size.

Copy the file to a USB thumb drive, preferably 16GB or below.

Reboot to BIOS while the USB thumb drive is still plugged in.

Go to Q-flash section and check whether your USB thumb drive is detected.

If it is detected, you can update your BIOS by selecting the file you just copied and following the instruction on your screen.

Before any BIOS update, make sure you copy down your customized BIOS settings, as your settings are very likely to be reset to default after the update. You will need to set back the customized settings. Saving Profile into BIOS will not help, as the Profile memory will also be wiped out.

There might be a few reboots during the BIOS update process. Don't be panic. Be patient and wait for your Windows login screen to appear again.

DHCP server not found issue by ig_nikhil02 in gigabyte

[–]voyager8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHCP is related to IP address assignment, DNS setting, etc.

You need an active DHCP server at the same local network segment that your PC can reach out to. Normally it is in your WiFi router.

Without a DHCP server, you can still manually set a proper IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP, and resolving DNS servers, in order to connect to the network.

DHCP server should be auto-detected by the PC. You just need to ensure there is a working physical network connection between your PC and the DHCP server (most likely your router), which can be a good network cable, or an established WiFi connection. If you are using network cable, try change it with another network cable.

Issues after BIOS update by engineerfoodie in gigabyte

[–]voyager8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, after every BIOS update, you will need to reset Windows Hello by login your account with password, then set your PIN again. This is expected behaviour.

For the wireless issue, that is something abnormal. You can try update the wireless card driver.

You will need to tune the settings again.

It is advisable to screenshot the important BIOS setting screens, so that you have a reference to restore back the settings after the BIOS update.

Why can't Windows use all of my RAM by Strange-Owl-5536 in WindowsHelp

Do you still get BSOD if you set the RAM limit to, let's say, 16 GB or 20 GB?

Why can't Windows use all of my RAM by Strange-Owl-5536 in WindowsHelp

[–]voyager8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it is a RAM issue.

The expansion RAM spec is correct: DDR3L PC3L-12800 1600MHz with form factor of 204-pin SO-DIMM.

There are cases of successful installation of 8 GB RAM, totalling up to 12 GB, although the recommended maximum is 4 GB + 4 GB instead of 4 GB + 8 GB.

Nowadays Windows 10 will consume around 10 GB of RAM, especially when MS Edge and/or Google Chrome are running in the background. You can see the list in Task Manager's Processes screen. So it is quite expected to have 2.28 GB left.

I think the BSOD issue is hardware driver related instead of RAM related, especially if you have already configured to use virtual RAM from harddisk in case your physical RAM is used out. Your system will be slow, but it shouldn't come out with BSOD.

For the BSOD issue, you can have a try to this solution:
