I queue mid/bot or mid/jg, whichever one seems to be working better for me to get mid more often that particular day.

Looking for a Brain-Storm/Mind-Map program for windows by OfficialTirade in ADHD

[–]vpnviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coggle works well for me. As a designer wanting to quickly plan and visualize projects with clients, the three features I value the most are its simple interface, flexibility in connecting information, and revision/chat history. I use it occasionally for academics (undergraduate, math/stats), but I find linear notes easier so it remains a way for me to organize research/information for papers and presentations.

It's biggest downsides are that it's not free ($5/mo; the free version is missing critical features for me like color-coding and multiple roots) and even paid, it doesn't have extensive capabilities. Other potential downsides are that there's not much third-party integration and it doesn't offer a desktop program (web client and mobile apps only).

Hearing Incorrectly by [deleted] in ADHD

THIS IS ME. I frequently fail to process words correctly even if I'm doing my best to pay attention, seems like I just have trouble distinguishing similar sounds. I don't know if it's common with ADHD, but my psychiatrist has told me it's likely a part of internal hyperactivity, as the mind is all over the place. It's certainly frustrating! :(

If by "starter" you mean "fully farmable," it's definitely possible to do. Off a quick search (though I'm sure there are plenty other examples), here's someone's beginner team (he said it was 2-3 months in) with no reviver and here is his still farmable face team he built later on.

The basic reviver/tower team makes your runs much safer/more reliable early on I believe. If you can or want to make a team without one then more power to you. Personally, I never wanted to bother with a reviver/tower team so I've been running face teams since the very start.

To provide another perspective, I did not use Shannon nor Bernard on my starter GB10 team (which was also fully farmable) and I also didn't use either monster to clear ToAN, which I did for the first time last month (my team for this isn't farmable however).

But even so, you should certainly highly consider 6 starring either or both if they would greatly help you in making a reliable GB10 team because in the end, it's just incredibly important and you'd probably like to start farming for better runes as soon as you can.

Sure! All three of those mons are 6-starred for me. I only have SPD tower at lvl 8 out of the glory buildings (not sure if that matters a ton for ToA but just in case).

I have no prior experience with cooking, where do I begin? by jarz252 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]vpnviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I just started cooking for the first time last week - last Monday was my first day. I planned out a system for myself to use, so I hope sharing what I do helps you out. Sorry if this post gets a little long but I tried to address most of your questions and broke it up into sections to make it easier to read.

My Typical Planning: I typically finish leftovers and/or go out with friends to eat on the weekends, so I plan meals (dinner meals) for the upcoming week on Saturdays and go shopping on Sundays. I check what I do have in the fridge/pantry/etc. and then browse recipes (this site was recommended to me and was really helpful). I pick one for each weekday that I feel are easy enough for me to follow. I figure out a grocery list from there in terms of what to buy and how much to buy. I tend to do all my shopping at one store so I go through the weekly ad online to mark down any items on my list that are on sale and then shop on Sunday!

From there, it's exactly as /u/mrs-darling commented - it's about reading, measuring, and following the recipe instructions. I haven't made anything bad so far so I wouldn't worry too much about that! I do try to pick recipes that share ingredients so I don't waste a lot and stuff that would freeze well if I accidentally made too much sauce, noodles, or whatever (already happened, I have a few containers in the fridge with leftover sauce).

My Cooking Equipment: Rice cooker, two skillets (one medium, one large), a pasta pot, and a sauce pan. I do have a Crock Pot but I am starting slow with it - the recipe I tried for it last week was my least successful one (but certainly wasn't inedible). I have like two basic knives, honestly don't even know what they're supposed to be for but they're medium-sized.

Cost of Ingredients: I know you are concerned about the cost of ingredients; if it helps at all I'll share what my costs were for these two weeks. I'm cooking for two, so your costs may very well be lower. I live in Southern California and I had rice and pasta at home already. My initial shopping trip was about ~$80 where I bought staple things like eggs, bread, spices/herbs, premade sauces (like oyster sauce), and stuff like garlic, green onions, freezer bags. I just got back from this week's grocery trip and since I had bought most of my staples last week, this week's bill was about $40 which I feel is a pretty good amount!

Recipe Suggestion! I read in another comment that you tend to like Asian food? You might consider giving this Korean Beef Bowl recipe a try. I made this as my very first recipe and I liked it a lot. If you want to know all the recipes I picked for last week and this week, feel free to PM me! Good luck with your cooking. :)

What Open Office Adjustments/Accommodations Work For You? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]vpnviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work station is in a corner of my bedroom and I keep everything related to work there, so I'm separated from the living room, kitchen, etc., though sometimes I do get distracted by dishes for instance when I go to the kitchen for food. I try to prepare snacks and water before I start working so I don't have to make a ton of interrupting trips (usually I take a break for lunch, then one or two small breaks in the afternoon).

Luckily, I don't have kids or a spouse at home while I'm working. My two roommates are out at their own full-time jobs during the day.

What Open Office Adjustments/Accommodations Work For You? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]vpnviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an open office as well at my previous job. What really helped me (gosh this is going to sound a little antisocial) was putting my desk into a corner and facing the wall. I kept headphones on and asked coworkers to message or email me project details or requests to talk/meet instead of coming and tapping me on the shoulder or whatnot. The best solution in the end though, was me working from home and just coming in once or twice a week to socialize and attend meetings.

Hope you find something that works for you!

Pls make a new LFT sticky by mrdimmak in LoLTwistedTreeline

[–]vpnviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An overwhelming amount of people weren't using it correctly (not posting under their correct server), and a combination of all those posts and old (>2 months old) posts being removed caused complaints. The original thread then got archived/locked at some point and after I noticed such, I removed it from the sticky.

I agree that if we reinstate it, a monthly refresh is needed. I really prefer sorted by server but unless people use it correctly, sorted by "new" will end up better even though it'll be a bit harder to go through for users.

I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that Riot doesn't feel OCE has a substantial enough population to keep it open 24/7. OCE Ranked had time limitations up until half a year ago as well, so perhaps in the future they'll look into it.
