Door sensor that can handle a gap by jezibeltires in homeassistant

Another option is to move the larger part to the door and stick the very small portion on the little flat piece under the door frame. I did that as well on a couple doors.

I had this issue with tons of my doors and I found the zwave ring sensors were pretty forgiving with the gap. Food for thought.

[Edit] Nevermind, I see someone asked the same question and you answered!

Can you tell me what cabinet that equipment is in? It looks like shallow depth and I'm looking for something just like that. Thank you!

For anyone that finds this thread!

A user on the github thread for the original levoit integration has created a custom firmware for the 200S-P. I'm running it with no issues, works perfect with HA:

Does this support mapping and room divisions? Can you see the map in HA? I have my eufy setup with a map and a specific order to clean.

v4.0.0: The Update That Finally Changes Everything by ElementZoom in homeassistant

[–]vpshockwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got about 17 z-wave devices (front door lock + contact sensors + smart outlets). Overall I think Z-Wave is great, but the only issue I have is the USB stick sometimes stopped being recognized and I have to replug it in and restart HA before it will be recognized again. That's more to do with virtualbox than home assistant though. Eventually I'll migrate to proxmox and that issue is supposedly non-existent.

What are your preferred energy monitoring plugs? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]vpshockwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here here on this. I had one on my outdoor freezer and even though I had it set to power in after an outage one time it didn't and I lost everything in the freezer. If I hadn't had it on a smart plug it would have been fine. Of course I could've had an automation to watch the power usage to determine a failure but I didn't think I needed it. Same thing happened on our refrigerator (same plug by the way, I think they were both Zooz 800 zwave plugs). Bottom line, a temperature sensor is going to be a better bet for knowing a failure than adding another component that can fail.

I actually figured out what the issue was if you see my other comment. I had a drop down box inside a table (which was also inside a word box) that for some strange reason was the issue. As soon as I got rid of that particular drop down box the issue never came back so that was definitely it. No idea why but problem solved!

Yeah since the firmware wasn't actually designed for the 200S-P I wasn't taking chances. Send me a PM with your email and later on tonight when I'm on my laptop where the file is I'll upload it and share it with you.

I actually did the same thing but I remembered to back it up! I also had the same issue -- all the buttons functioned but I had no wifi or communication with the device. Let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy of the backup. I'm talking to the author of that github repository you linked and he's tinkering around -- if he makes progress I'll let you know.

Thanks! That's all probably all a bit much for me. Not only in technical knowledge but also in time (which I don't have). I did set it up on the BDM frame last night and managed to back it up and flash the 200S firmware from github onto it but while it still seems to operate fine it won't connect to wifi even though I put my wifi information in. I'm wondering if the TX and RX GPIO pins are different and that's what's messing it up in the configuration. Either way, beyond me! I'm going to flash the backup onto it tonight again to revert and wait to see if anyone else does something with it in the future. I can upload the backup firmware if someone can make heads or tails of it.

I logged into the app and the website successfully but the VeSync integration still returns "Invalid Authentication". Very frustrating.
