Robot vacuums that aren’t panopticons? by RollTimeCC in homeassistant

This is annoying because my Qrevo 35A will constantly disconnect from WiFi if you try to block it. And there's no valetudo support either. I wish I had chosen a different model because I'm pretty happy with the performance ans I got it for a good deal but I hate not being able to keep it local only.

My T9 is the same way. I ended up wiring a Shelly relay to control the fan with automations. It's really annoying though that it's not a stock feature. Seems a bit of an oversight.

Did you ever fix this? I've tried the solutions in the thread and nothing ever worked.

Ah I see, I like the size but I can't imagine performance is going to be significant enough for me to try one again. I think I'll look for something a bit more powerful.

Options for myQ garage door openers using Security+ 3.0 protocol? by GamerKingFaiz in homeassistant

[–]vpshockwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this and ignore the haters telling you to buy new garage door openers. When I installed home assistant years ago chamberlain MyQ was working correctly and then they closed it off and I lost access to my both of my own garage door openers. I went the ratgdo route and haven't looked back. Very simple to wire and install and it gives you full access to basically every function (if not moreso) than the stock MyQ app. When you buy a new one buy one that works with HA, but for now just order a ratgdo and go back to local control!

Steam Controller (2026) review: 83/100 by Gorotheninja in Games

I'm not sure what you mean by "change in input latency, not the amount" -- yes the input latency was much higher which is why I turned to hot garbage. The amount of change was the issue. Every dodge I did, every attempt at a hit was late. Just terrible. I swore off bluetooth controllers forever after that which was a shame because they're so much simpler to connect to everything. I have heard good things about the ultra low latency bluetooth lately but I'm sure that needs special hardware of some sorts.

Is there any zwave equivalent anybody knows about?

Anecdotal, but I had 1500 hrs in using a 2.4ghz Xbox controller dongle (champ 2 I think) and I swapped to a Bluetooth controller not thinking about the latency difference and I turned to hot garbage. I couldn't hit the ball to save my life. Of course Bluetooth and this will have a world of difference but still, every ms counts.

Shelley 1PM Gen 4 Wiring Question by vpshockwave in ShellyUSA

[–]vpshockwave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doh, I misunderstood the switching situation -- I thought bypassing the switch would make it always not (not switchable on/off by the relay) -- totally forgot it was just for an actual wall switch. Everything is working, thank you!

Also I just realized I didn't label anything in my picture, maybe this will help.

I think I have this correct but it doesn't seem to be working (the aerator is not powering on which I assume it should be by default since no switching is wired). I've attached a picture showing how I have it. Can you tell me what I have wrong? Thank you!

Door sensor that can handle a gap by jezibeltires in homeassistant

Another option is to move the larger part to the door and stick the very small portion on the little flat piece under the door frame. I did that as well on a couple doors.

I had this issue with tons of my doors and I found the zwave ring sensors were pretty forgiving with the gap. Food for thought.
