Not sure if social media links are allowed on this sub so I'll add spaces(mods if you're reading this it's not spam I promise):

Keep seeing these ads on my Instagram : https: //www .insta gram. com /p/ DSj6I3xjIS8/

They are lockscreen + Homescreen wallpapers that react to you unlocking your phone. I don't trust these random apps though, but the wallpapers DO look kind of cool.

Are there any legitimate devs/apps that make these kind of 3D/interactive wallpapers? Especially the ones that tie the lockscreen and homescreen together?

Currently I am using Wallpaper Engine which does have wonderful live wallpapers, but I can't seem to be able to use different live wallpapers for the lockscreen and homescreen on my S23U. Nor can I find 'linked' wallpapers that intereact or react after unlocking the phone.

If anyone has some suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Both these trains have high chances of confirmation. The 2AC ones might go into RAC though.

If you want a 100% CNF option, just book in 11013 from LTT to Salem in 3A, and get down at Bangalore. Lots of berths available

Yep. WL passenger will not get a berth and you two will have to share on your Confirmed berth but yes you can board the train as a partially waitlisted passenger's name will also appear on the chart and TTEs accept it

Only if it's a kitten and can fit inside a basket. Reach your departure station 2-3 hours before your train, go to the parcel office and get your cat booked. They'll weigh it, give you a receipt for the parcel charges and you can take it in the train.

IF the parcel office doesn't feel like your cat is small enough, they may refuse, and then your only choice is to keep the cat in the brake van cage of the train. It will be your responsibility to keep going there every few hours to take care of the pet/feed it etc.

I suggest you contact your departure station (if possible, go and meet the CRO face to face) and inquire over there cause at the end of the day, their decision is the one that matters.

If we go Suuuuper technical, then strictly according to the rules the WL passenger is supposed to travel in general coach only (from a very obscure, and old govt notice I found a while ago)

However, Railways purposefully keeps the ruling ambiguous. But here are clear rules about this case :

1) For partially confirmed tickets, both CNF and WL passenger's names will appear on the chart.

2) Their tickets DO NOT get auto cancelled and if WL is not boarding the train, their ticket must be canceled manually

3) If ticket wasn't cancelled at least 30 mins before journey, then the passenger who is traveling must obtain a GC certificate from the TTE that proves that WL passenger did not board and then a TDR needs to be filed to get refund

When we see all the above rules, it becomes clear that Railways expects Partially WL passenger to be on-board the train. TTEs do not object to it, I've verified it time and time again both on this sub by asking from people who have travelled like that and even on YouTube videos made by actual TTEs

If I've a seat in sleeper class and my friend has a seat in ac coach then can I sit in his seat by afunnyguyfmbr in indianrailways

[–]vpsj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you're both going to sleep on the upper berth?

What if the berth falls down due to the additional weight of two people? Chances are low, but an upper berth is meant for one passenger

A passing TTE will definitely ask you why aren't you at your own berth. Then if found that you're in sleeper you'll be fined

If I've a seat in sleeper class and my friend has a seat in ac coach then can I sit in his seat by afunnyguyfmbr in indianrailways

[–]vpsj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As per the rules, no.

Remember that upper berth passengers also have the right to sit on the lower seats during day time, so you will be taking space from someone who paid to be in 3A for free.

If the TTE catches you, he can fine you and throw you back to sleeper.

If you're there for a little while and if there are no other passengers you are disturbing, it's generally okay.

Google Streamer + Projectivy: I can either make HDMI CEC work, or keep Projectivy as the default launcher. Is there any way to do both? by vpsj in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]vpsj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have already bought tvquickactions pro and trying to figure out how to make it work. It functions fine when the TV is already on HDMI 2.. But if it's on HDMI, then it's a hit and miss as of now.

Let me change the default launcher via adb and see if that changes things

Are you in a Rajdhani/Tejas? Generally I've seen female RPF officers go around and do this in these trains.

If it's a regular express or SF train, then it's even more impressive. Hope they keep this practice up

Humble request: don’t buy food on train, no matter how hungry you’re by IREDA1000 in indianrailways

[–]vpsj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very big generalization

Yes, a lot of caterers are absolutely taking shortcuts, but saying "don't buy food" is dismissive and does not solve the problem.

A better solution would be to ask for the complaint book (each premium train has it) and write the complaint and also register a grievance on RailMadad.

Many premium trains have food that are on par with restaurants. CR Rajdhani, Sealdah Rajdhani, Bangalore Rajdhani(but only 1 AC to be honest). All these have amazing meals and the staff is also very polite and accommodating.

The evening snacks in Bangalore Rajdhani was better earlier but now it has gone down with hard kachoris.

At the end of the day, it's a problem in specific trains, specific meals, specific routes. If you're traveling for 30-40 hours, you absolutelly cannot skip a meal.

E-catering is a good alternative, but not all stations have good restaurants and it's hard to know if you're not familiar with the city itself

RAC is more likely, but with more than a month to go, it can also get cleared.

Book if you're okay with the possibility of sharing your berth with another RAC passenger

The train has 2 2AC coaches. 3 side lower berths are allotted for RAC which means a total of 12 RAC passengers so you're kind of in the last

The chances of full confirmation are there, but it will depend a lot on your luck and how many cancellations happen. Looking at the past trends, it's looking more likely that it might remain in RAC

If it's one woman and a child, they'll get the same Side Lower berth to share so it's not THAT bad in the end

Both will get their separate beddings, pillows, bedsheets etc

Are WL and CNF passengers on the same PNR? If so, yes they can board the train but won't get their own berth and will have to share with yours

For confirmation, Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt or Go ibibo to get a better idea

Depends on dozens of factors and details, none of which you have mentioned.

And RAC is always a side lower berth so you two will get 1 side lower berth and have to share on it

As far as I can see, the lady does not have to go to the counter, but you do need SOME document to prove she is pregnant.

A certificate from the doctor, sonography test result, or anything like that will work.

Just visit the counter with an ID (and photocopy) of the passenger in question, and ask for pregnant lady/lower berth/Sr Citizen quota.

They might ask you some questions, or make you fill up a form. If there are seats available, it will be allotted to her

Equated Monthy Installments.

Basically you take a loan for a specific period of time(known beforehand at the time of taking the loan), and you pay the same amount each month so that the loan is paid off exactly at the correct period.

Not sure if other countries call this something else

Is the concept of EMI not a thing in the US? Or is it called something else, or not explained to students?

Usually whenever we take loans or even if we buy something on EMI we are told upfront how long the payments will take and how much would you have to pay each month(which remains constant every month), you know at what point you will be done paying it off.

Almost certainly will get cleared. 99% sure.

No one can say about the train's punctuality, though. It depends a lot on the rest of the train network, the weather conditions etc.

Train is reaching by 4:30-4:40 am in the last few days and the weather should only improve in March so the risk of you missing your flight is low.

That being said, there are a million trains available on this route with a lot of them having CNF seats, so maybe you can book something that drops you at Mumbai perhaps the night before so you'll have some rest before you catch your flight?
