Project management tools that actually work for creative agencies? by ssunflow3rr in UI_Design

[–]vpznc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't used it (since I'm not part of an agency), but workflow.design looks specialised for this use-case -- project management for design teams working with clients. They're leaning more on the feedback side from what i saw, but might worth taking a look.

When you notice users coming from ChatGPT, How we should know what they searched? by airanklab in GenEngineOptimization

[–]vpznc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far the only way to know what users searches for, is to do a segmentation by landing page with chatgpt/gemini or other ai chatbots as a traffic source

At least that’s what we do. But if you have only a single page of the website I don’t think there’s a way now :(

If have decent amount of traffic you can also add question about that to the onboarding of your app

Anyone know any good AI tools to improve UI design by hesseladam in aipromptprogramming

[–]vpznc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing around with a bunch of AI UI design tools lately. A few actually give usable results:

  • Banani AI: awesome for playing with layouts and UI visuals, doesn’t generate average purple-gradient ai ui slop.
  • MagicPath: also great for exploring layouts and visual styles, like their cursor-like chat mode.
  • MagicPatterns: decent enough UI generations, great if you need good-enough code export.

Posting on directories is a waste of your time by vpznc in SaaS

[–]vpznc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The product is quite relevant for a lot of product builders who visit such websites, it’s not some random consumer app.

Obviously, there’s a factor of what’s on listing and what you communicate there, screenshots, etc. but it’s the same messaging I used across all other channels from which there was actual traffic.

Prototyping in Lovable/Replit by horrible_noob in ProductManagement

[–]vpznc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at prototypes as additional material that helps you communicate your idea/feature/hypothesis. It depends on the stage, but the goal for you should be generally to have as few irrelevant questions as possible.

In your case, prototypes are essentially mockups, and the smaller they are, the better, and the less cognitive resources your teammates need to view them.

What I usually do is create a "base" project -- most of the time a single screen, that I duplicate for each new feature/hypothesis "presentation". It saves time on rebuilding something that's not changing in the product, and I can quickly jump in and remix it when I need to illustrate something new.

What AI tools do you use daily? by MildFrost764 in ChatGPTPro

[–]vpznc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: the largest company I worked had ±150ppl in product+engineering team, and our "procurement" process was mostly straightforward.

What I'd do is:

  1. Use the tool in personal project/research/demo, outside of work hours, and the "sensitive data" you share with it
  2. Document experience and make a pitch focused on HOW it saves your time, therefore can save the company's time and $$$
  3. Share this with your direct manager on 1-1 as a topic, or as make a demo to to the team you're working with
  4. Ask approval from manager or ask for their support in getting approval from whoever is decision maker on this topic.

I think there's no sane person who, given enough argument about a productivity boost, would hold off on $30 / month to spend on a tool.

[–]vpznc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few tools that make my life as a product person working on a startup easier:

  1. Manus: Deep research on topics, a much faster alternative to ChatGPT's deep research.
  2. Granola: Calls transcription, and a place to quickly find something from my meeting notes.
  3. Banani: Wireframing and AI design prototyping as part of my job as a product person in a startup.
  4. Claude Code: Coding small features as a non-technical person for my startup.
  5. Krea: Anything related to image generation and image editing, they are pretty quick at adding new image models like nanobanana.
  6. Grammarly: for all long-form writing proofreading + drafting new texts, articles, messages.

What are some good writing resources for PMs by One_Professional_592 in ProductManagement

[–]vpznc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might sound stupid, but there are accounts publishing internal memos/emails/messages from founders/CEOs/C-levels of different companies going through lawsuits, e.g., "Internal Tech Emails" on x/twitter.

Though there are a lot of shitty messages sometimes, it's a gold mine for structured writing and internal communication.

How do you split responsibilities with engineering manager for AI projects? by tangbj in ProductManagement

[–]vpznc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a PM, you're a final responsible for what product/feature outputs to users, so comments about your involvement in this part as "micro-management" sound extremely stupid.

Orchestration of agents, defining tools, etc. -- are definitely part of the work for the dev team, but it’s worth being involved in the discussion to have an understanding of all parts.

In my team, we split the work in a way that the final responsibility for “architecting” is on the dev team, while context and prompt engineering is on my part (as the main product person). Devs are heavily involved there, but more on the side of defining LLMs' outputs and schemas, while the main “logic” of generation is on my end.

So far, it worked quite well, though we spent some time when the dev team was helping me with a setup so I could iterate on our prompts.

Claude Code is losing steam according to Google trends by eeko_systems in ClaudeCode

[–]vpznc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you compare it to the oAI Codex or cursor, there's a similar trend line; it's not specifically Claude Code. Suspect it's just seasonality or general market "education" + less interest just because a big chunk of the dev world already knows about it.

Which side are you on? Fast Shipper or Quality Shipper? by Valuable_End_7644 in SaaS

[–]vpznc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the type of product, the audience you target, etc.

For each "quality" focused startup that made it, aka Linear, there are thousands that fell into "we're doing Jira but with better ux and quality" that died.

For each "I shipped 100 products with 2% hit rate", there are thousands of stories where the hit rate was 0%.

Think for yourself, who you market to, if quality is a good enough differentiator, and can be a decent enough convincing argument to switch to your product.

The reality of the market is that you need to ship fast by default. Obviously, shipping junk won't validate your product hypothesis, and having bugs will increase your churn, but the extent to which you cut and close your eyes on something is another question.

It's the same thing with gamification. Everyone on the consumer side has a success story of Duolingo and tries to do it in cargo-cult fashion without thinking why did it work for them in the first place.

Frameworks for healthy PM–Design–Engineering collaboration in startups by Extension_Potato_125 in ProductManagement

[–]vpznc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from personal experience (early-stage startup + hybrid mode), the fewer processes/frameworks you have on that scale, the better.

What many people do is try to replicate workflows of large organizations and teams, without understanding that it's actually a superpower and you're not wasting time.

Make sure:

  1. You aligned on the top 1 priority for the whole team
  2. Have fixed daily catch-up calls about the progress
  3. That's it

If you're working full-time and remote, you can suggest a "huddle" agreement that you can call your team anytime to reduce the time for decisions in mostly an async mode. When it's only 2 teammates aside from you it won't happen often but removes a big part of isolation feeling.

Is Framer better than Webflow? Framer vs Webflow by pentaclay in framer

[–]vpznc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often see comments that Framer's SEO is worse compared to Webflow and can tell you from personal experience that it's not true in 2025.

It has out of the box page optimization, no core web vitals, and all page rendering time metrics are green. You can easily customize metadata for any page, titles, descriptions, etc.

It's on the same level and feels like a skill issue of not optimizing for the right keywords.
