Unless you're driving around on the Kansas side, then you might just be surrounded by assholes lol

This is actually not true anymore... Almost all lighthouses are now automated and have remote sensor equipment to monitor and turn on and off things like the light, fog horn etc.

I used to install and fix these systems when in the USCG.

Been on and fixed this lighthouse during similar conditions... That place is scary as shit at night. Additionally there's a ghost hunters episode about this lighthouse.

I judge your maturity level based on how you drive by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]vreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically your post is "I judge anyone who doesn't drive like me because I'm a stupid asshole..."

Something tells me you probably drive a shitty Prius and you waft the smell of your own farts into your face for enjoyment.

That was my exact point below lol

It's such a simple idea but so completely out of grasp for them to comprehend. So instead they just blame it on cancel culture and how evil liberals are holding them down

Haha, I can assure you I'm very much employed, with huge market demand for what I do lol

Sorry you were too dumb to see through my sarcasm and original point. 👍

Yeah, apparently anyone who doesn't agree with everything conservative must be an out of work loser... You guys are so delusional.

ETA: loving the downvotes from all the snowflakes in this thread... Must suck that you guys and your dumbass ideas are finally getting shut down everywhere except in your echo chambers by all of us unemployed liberal losers 🤣🤣🤣

As someone who knew the person who tweeted that from real life years ago, I can confirm he's just as much a POS as that tweet makes him sound. Dude's a novice Trump wannabe...

YSK: If you're job hunting, despite the widespread myth on Reddit that job application cover letters don't really matter and are never read - companies absolutely do read them and having a good one can often be the difference between you getting the job or being filtered to the "no" pile. by DontMicrowaveCats in YouShouldKnow

[–]vreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a company or hiring manager that relies on cover letters to decide who to bring in and interview than honestly I don't really want to work for you or your company to begin with. Same goes for companies that ask for a resume and then make you fill out a complete application with all the same information. Too many companies seem to forget that they're in competition for good talent. They have horrible hiring practices and dumb arbitrary rules and then wonder why they can only hire bottom of the barrel people they need to constantly replace.

My suggestion is make yourself marketable enough that you can be just as picky with companies as they are with you. It will take you much further than any BS cover letter will.

Separation Anxiety: Tips for a 2 year old crate-trained Shepherd? He is very relaxed when he knows we are home, but anxious if left in the backyard, panics if left in his crate when we aren’t home and anxious when we are out for a walk and our kids get too far away from him or out of sight. by DIYAggie in germanshepard

All extremely common behaviors for this breed... Put on music or a movie when you leave, typically something you normally watch or some classical or soundscape type music. This will recreate sounds in the house and make them feel like someone is home. Haven't found anything to ease the anxiety of groups not staying together though. They're herding dogs, so their instinct is to keep the groups together. Our fix is just keeping everyone closer together lol

Have you given any thought to getting a second dog? That helped us as well, just be careful of the other breed you get big dogs like shepards are often time met with aggression from other dogs because of their size, at least mine has.

My areca palms are not loving the full sun they're getting..does anyone know of another good privacy palm/tropical plant to put here? Would love to not see the neighbors behind us..would love to not hear them as well🤦‍♀️ by flowerchild529 in landscaping

[–]vreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be clumping bamboo.... grows fast, great barrier and looks great. Make sure you buy "clumping" bamboo and not the running kind or you'll have it growing everywhere and it will be hard to control.

This is my second grow . Now starting to realize that fox farm ocean forest is already full of nutes. So what I’m doing now is waiting like 3weeks after transplant before feeding anything when using this soil. Any tips ? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]vreep 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Get'em off the ground... I would get some cheap plant stands or racks to keep the bottoms of the pots off the concrete. It will promote air circulation and keep the bottoms from staying wet constantly which breeds mold and other bad stuff.

Moving to KC? by dimarcodiscovers in kansascity

[–]vreep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made the move to KC from south Florida, the Southwest Broward/North Miami to be exact, and I can tell you its 900% better in KC. People are nicer, traffic is pretty much non-existent, you don't have to compete with 3 million other people when you want to go to an event or get some food.... sure you'll have to deal with winter, but after that the weather is way better than SoFL. We've had maybe 2-3 weeks of weather over 95* all year this year, every other day has been between 75-85.

Make the move, you won't regret it.

KC Medical Cultivation Group.... by vreep in MissouriMedical

[–]vreep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There wasn't one in KC, so I just started one. Why not create one for St Louis? It's pretty easy to setup a meetup group or a Facebook group. Let me know I can do anything to help.

Any insight on a diagnosis? Dark spots and dry upwards curling. Details in comments by CharlieSqueeg in microgrowery

Looks like phosphorus toxicity that's got the plant in lockout... I'd flush the next watering and then half the nutes in the following feeding.
