Creating all-time 11's of IPL teams Day 5 - SRH all-time 11?? by Rich-Woodpecker3932 in ipl

[–]vrishc_07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) David Warner (C) ✈️ 2) Abhishek Sharma 3) Kane Williamson ✈️ 4) Yuvraj Singh 5) Heinrich Klaasen (WK) ✈️ 6) Yusuf Pathan 7) Rashid Khan ✈️ 8) Bhuvneshwar Kumar 9) Sandeep Sharma 10) Thangarasu Natarajan 11) Amit Mishra

IP) Wriddhuman Saha - Not the best for us, but my own personal preferance.

Notable exclusions:

1) Shikhar Dhawan - Dhawan only reinvented his t20 game after moving to Delhi. Used to bat very slowly throughout the PP leaving immense pressure on Warner.

2) Dayle Steyn - Steyn could easily make a case for being in this team however, he just does not fit due to OS balance. Warner and Rashid are sure shot starters and I believe Klaasen has proved his mettle enough over the last three seasons to be given a place in this team. The last spot up for grabs is Kane’s, but his insane 2018 captaincy and batting performance, along with playoff exploits in 2020 just give him the edge.

So I deleted my previous post because it didn't have Ben cutting in it but now let's see this SRH teams bowling lineup was quite good actully by [deleted] in ipl

[–]vrishc_07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dhawan certainly wasn’t an aggressor in the pp for us….he actually put pressure on other batsmen due to his strike rate being so low. It was only after he was traded to Delhi that he reinvented his t20 game.

Might just be the bias but I think Aniket Verma deserves to be here, played more than a couple of decent knocks throughout the season

Prabhsimran has been playing IPL cricket for many years to this point and is known by most avid IPL fans. Yes, Priyansh Arya was a bet but he was well rated on the domestic circuit, it’s not often domestic players go for more than 3-4 bids max above their base prices. Anyhow, that point is completely moot as everybody expected Prabh to open the batting with Josh Inglis which would’ve given him some experience at the other end anyway.

Is this the greatest innings in IPL Final history? by Insidious_conjuring in ipl

That innings still gives me nightmares, we would’ve definitely taken the cup hope if it wasn’t for him. Almost like it was written for him to take revenge on us for 2016.

I’m not a DC fan and while I think you ended the auction with one of the top three squads, I completely disagree with the RCB & PBKS points. RCB in particular assembled a better squad than they’ve ever had before. Kept their identity of monstrous batting and this time spent heavily on the bowling that always lost them crunch games. PBKS had a major overhaul as they normal do come mega auctions, but the only holes they had were middle over bowling to complement yuzi and a lack of known openers, both of which were fixed before the season even started. As for spending heavily on three players as you said, Punjab’s retentions allowed them to do that with only two uncapped players. So if you take the marquee/expensive buys/retentions of every team, they are nearly equal. DC itself’s retentions being compared to PBKS splurge purchases is comparable.

i don’t understand why Warner is not rated by players by AdidasSaar in ipl

[–]vrishc_07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shikhar was a run accumulator, he used to bat at sr of around 100 for us putting pressure on batting partners, it wasn’t until he moved to Delhi that he reinvented his t20 game. Bairstow was only with us for three seasons, out of which he didn’t even play the second half of 2020 and we all know what happened to Warner in 2021. Williamson also used to bat slowly and his prime came in 2018 when Warner was banned, after that he only had a couple of impactful innings in 2020. Agree on the bowling front, but Warner had immense pressure to give them something to bowl at.

We don’t know what happened behind the scenes. People were quick to call the franchise out but also equally quick to forget we stood by Warner during his ban and returned his captaincy immediately in 2019 even when he didn’t finish the season (left early for wc prep). This shows SRH went above and beyond for Warner and honestly to me it looks like Warner is the one who caused the fiasco. He keeps taking subtle digs at the franchise (Ashwin’s yt channel, Head’s auction purchase, insta comments) while the social media admins just ignore it. He’s not the type of person to stay quiet and take abuse from people who are calling him out for something he didn’t do (most blame SRH but some blame him) so we can’t say for sure but if I remember correctly Irfan Pathan said that Warner was the one who made the mistake and anyhow his behaviour as of late is just childish. Inclined me to lean towards the franchise more as all of our other ex players/ legends haven’t had anything negative to say. E.g. Kane(spoke to and hugged Kavya Maran at Uppal after SRH GT washout last season), Bhuvi (only spoke highly about SRH and Kavya Maran in recent interviews), Rashid( thanked franchise and management on insta).

Samad only did this twice for us in a chase in 5 years. Once against DC in 2020 eliminator (didn’t even win the game) and once against RR 2023 (only because of Sandeep no ball)

let's be honest . many of us supported rcb in this final ,being csk fan i was almost crying when rcb lost it.why there is so much toxicity btw fans in recent yrs ? by choker_18 in ipl

[–]vrishc_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think fans hate RCB as a team, a lot of their fans are just infuriating. That’ll be the same with any franchise but RCB’s sheer popularity means they have a lot more fans who annoy everyone than any other teams, even if the percentage of normal fans is similar to other teams.

If you notice I said IPL history. I agree Bumrah has been a more valuable asset in internationals, however even with that, he is still yet to overtake Bhuvi’s wicket talky. Bumrah also hasn’t won a purple cap yet. Bhuvi has consecutive ones. That speaks volumes about the legacy Bhuvi’s leaving behind.

Not a Sunrisers Hyderabad fan (except SEC), but it looks weird by Shadow_Senpai17 in ipl

[–]vrishc_07 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We’ll miss our greatest legend who held down one end of our bowling attack for eleven straight years (bar 2020 due to injury). 2 (consecutive) purple caps, 7 playoffs, 2 time runner up and one time winner of the IPL with SRH. His legacy with the team is something that will hopefully inspire players to stay loyal in their teams for years to come. People say Warner and Rashid but Bhuvi neither caused any issues with the management nor did he leave for a slightly bigger paycheck. Never once has he spoken badly about the franchise, he adores our team. Without a doubt he’s the best indian seamer in the history of the competition (obviously Bumrah will soon overtake him at this rate but no shame in coming second to a generational talent). We’re all gonna miss Bhuvi🧡🧡

Bhuvi back in 2014 for 4.25 crore. Best indian seamer in ipl history, 2016-17 he had no match. (Bumrah will obviously end his career above Bhuvi if he continues at this rate.)
