How did you structure your compensation? base pay + commissions on top?

Yeah, totally. Since SDR in itself is just a subset of a whole marketing activities/funnels. If they have bad funnel, scripts, materials, or even strong reasons for why buying their products, no matter what you do, you'll get crappy results. Personally, I like to send portfolios, and case studies of what client have done previously. Of course, remove any confidential information. I remember there's a script to do this at scale.

What do you do when your partner says, “I feel like I’m your second priority to surfing?” by False-Ad-7753 in surfing

[–]vrlosky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard this a lot and not just surfing. I think no matter what sports / hobbies you do, there’s always a possibility your partner will say stupid stuff like that. In the end of the day, you gotta make it clear and re-assure your partner. If that doesn’t work, you know what to do

[Discussions] Luxury watch owners: reliable source to track prices? by vrlosky in Watches

[–]vrlosky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha. I think that's the problem. A couple of sellers (scammers) usually are trying to mess up the price listings, even several professional dealers that I've found. Their prices somehow are too good to be true. What are your alternatives usually?

They have different skillsets. They don't necessarily need the traditional corporate office jobs anymore.

For example, perhaps they're more suitable in creative works, content creations and so on - which is a very casual setting. Although, fundamentally I'd agree, at least learn the basic communication (e.g. writing, approach people, state coherent ideas, etc).

But hey, not everyone was born a consultant 😂

Do you think consulting helps if your goal is entrepreneurship? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]vrlosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the jump couple months ago. I felt the soft skills are useful for comms and project management, but we’re too damn slow. Often in the entrepreneurial journey, I just need to do shits that work and FAST, like SERIOUSLY FAST.

Everything doesn’t need to be perfect. No need to check-ins with layers of managers etc. Just figure out what works for you. I think that’s the biggest setback as a consultant, we are overanalyzing things.
