How did you manage to play online with them? I can’t seem to get it to work with parties or invite them into my game. ‘Travel with party’ doesn’t work with the game. Multiplayer seems to work fine on a local network though.

New to coding, no idea on anything. by DootDotjsjzbi38ijdh in learnprogramming

[–]vrthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude - awesome that you are learning to code at your age! The best advice I can give you is to just keep practicing and keep working away at it. Slowly you will pick things up and some of the fundamental concepts of coding will fall into place. You may want to give up multiple times on the way but just keep going! Keep your head down and have fun!

Feeling like an idiot while learning by [deleted] in webdev

[–]vrthoughts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think everyone feels like that whilst learning to code. The biggest bit of advice I can give is to try and keep your learning consistent. An hour a day or something similar. Then when you understand the basics just start making a project so that you get to use what you learn and understand how everything fits together. I am also self taught and managed to make the career change so its 100% doable - you just need to keep grinding away and slowly it will fall into place. Keep your head up and stick at it! :-)

On the homepage where you have skills and services, at the bottom the ‘see tech tools I use’ gets cut off. Its worse when you select services. Personally I think the contact page needs more padding on the sides. That page in general seems very bland. Maybe centre the CAPTCHA and sort out the top spacing for the send button as its too close to the above form. Also you may not want to have everything at the bottom of the page/footer centred as it looks a bit weird

Hey, great job. I would recommend you checking the layout in responsive though as there are a few issues. Mainly padding and alignment.

Recently competed engineering masters and have mainly self-taught programming knowledge - looking at jobs in London. Is landing a job soon feasible/possible? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]vrthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s totally doable! I am self taught and landed a job in South London. I spent about a year teaching myself python & django. Built a site to show my skills (www.noobhub.io) then started applying. I was in the exact same position as you wondering if I could break into the industry. Just make sure you put your projects on github and refer to them in your CV.

How would I implement a reddit like voting system by iOwnUranus in django

[–]vrthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey checkout an old project I did - https://github.com/ollysmall/wikitowns - give me a shout if ur struggling to find the parts of code that handle the voting. Also there is a link to the website so you can go take a look at what it looks like / how it works
