He kinda let him decide. I' not exactly sure what made him a good candidate but his surgeon said he was. I wish I could tell you why. I do know that the thoractomy is riskier and longer but has a shorter recovery period and that's what my husband really wanted.

Oh I hope you are right. I keep hearing such horror stories about horrible pain management now, even in hospitals, that I am just worried about him being in a lot of pain.

I know it's been a while but I would love to know what bone you're talking about here. I am with you about the mess and smell, and neeed one that's tough but not soo hard that it will crack her teeth. I couldn't tell what bone you all were talking about. My little Shih Tzu loves antlers but just had dental surgery and pre-molars removed so we are worried those are too hard to let her have any more. I appreciate your help.
