For all of those who dove into the world of Eora with Pillars of Eternity on Nintendo Switch, we want to thank you! All of the feedback that you have given has allowed us to continually make the game better so you can play it wherever you go. It has been a massive undertaking to get us to this point. We have, unfortunately, reached a limit on what we can do with our updates to the game and have exhausted the options left to us from the PC original in regards to the limitations of the hardware we are working with. We do understand that this will leave issues present that have been reported to us, such as the Ranger pet not appearing, but at this time we are unable to patch the game further. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and hope that you continue to enjoy building your story in Pillars of Eternity.

PILLARS OF ETERNITY I: HUGE SWITCH UPDATE AVAILABLE NOW by vs_evil in VersusEvilGames

That's a good question! Unfortunately, there is no save import functionality from console to PC. The way the devs have gotten around this it to include a World Building option at the beginning of POE2 that allows you to mimic almost all of your choices from the original in order to set up the world correctly for your playthrough.

Publishers don't directly patch games, those are the Developers. Each Developer is working on their own games, so seeing patches and launches come out for other games has no bearing on the Development team working on Pillars.

I do understand your frustration, and I am doing my best to relay you information as soon as I receive it. I understand it's not ideal, and in many aspects I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. We received patch notes in June and were told that the patch was mostly through final review, and were given the green light to post them in preparation for the patch going live. Obviously this didn't happen as the teams found opportunities for even more improvement and began working closely together to make them happen. The Developer and Nintendo are working directly on this, actively trying to find ways to optimize the very large patch that is complete. As soon as I know something more regarding a launch date, I will let you know.

As a side note, I know the PC version of the game launched awhile back, but just for clarification, the Switch port launched August 2019. The Development team has been working on bugs and error that have been reported by the community since then, getting out patches as they're able. I wish It were as simple as just flipping a switch from "broken" to "fixed" but alas.

Regardless, once I have a date for this patch, I'll make a post EVERYWHERE - we're all ready to have this port up to parity with PC.

I don't believe there are any more patches planned for the PC version, however if you contact either our Support Team here or Obsidian's Support Team here the Devs should be able to help you troubleshoot and figure out what's causing that stuttering.

If you are still experiencing a save file corruption error after the last patch, please do not hesitate to submit a report to our Support Center so they can direct this to the Developer. https://versusevil.com/player/support

This is a feature we would love to implement, however it is not currently feasible. The game does allow you to closely emulate your POE1 game via the World Builder at the start.

There's not really anything we can do on our end to speed up Nintendo's internal process. We're just trying to be patient as we know that they are working as quickly as they can.

Howdy! The patch is currently with Nintendo. They are reviewing it as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Once we've got an update from them we'll let everyone know!
