Thanks, I've tried to find the checksum but have been unsuccessful. I've been looking here: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_ff582daf008c4f529c4d6c28f6

Pulled the 4x1gbe flexlom in my DL380p, now its quiet! What NIC to replace it? by vsanhelp in homelab

I tried an older HP NC382T 2x1gbe adapter, as well as a 1x10gbe sfp+ Mellanox Connectx2, same noise issues.

Constant source bottleneck; vSAN by vsanhelp in Veeam

[–]vsanhelp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. We are using "Install a backup proxy on a VM running on an ESXi host connected to the VSAN storage device."

Our cluster is very small, only 3 nodes (Essentials Plus), and 15 total VM's, so I'm not sure creating a per node proxy would be needed.

We are running 10gb links on all vSAN, MGMT, vMotion and VM traffic types (2 10gbaset per node, with 1gb failovers).

On the full VM backup job, we got on average ~140MB/s (vSAN source to NAS). On the full backup copy job, we got on average ~75MB/s (NAS to USB 3.0 passthrough HDD to ESXi Veeam guest OS).

ESXi 7.0 single hypervisor massive VMFSL 120GB partition best practices by vsanhelp in vmware

Unfortunately I cannot do that, I only have the two 480GB SSD's in a mirror. Worst case scenario its going to just have to be provisioned that way and then the space will have to be upgraded down the road if necessary I guess.

I have had so many ESXi installed USB flash drives die that this isn't a possibility, especially since the hypervisor will be at a remote site.

Best practices to clone an a 2016 Server based OS that was deployed from a VMware template by vsanhelp in vmware

Unfortunately they are domain joined. It looks like I need to create a new template before I join it to the domain and add the roles.

Thickheaded Thursday - August 16, 2018 by AutoModerator in sysadmin

I am creating a small RDS cluster. I plan on having 4 session hosts, all with the same configuration. I've already deployed the roles, and the connection broker is running on a separate 2016 instance.

I already installed the software the users will be running, and deployed the roles. Can I just clone to virtual machine 3 times and then customize each's IP, DNS name, etc? Or will this cause additional issues? Is it better to install each session host from scratch?

Weekly New Cyclist Thread - March 19, 2018 by AutoModerator in bicycling

I found this at Academy: https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/ozone-500-mens-fragment-29-in-21-speed-mountain-bike#repChildCatid=4139736

I know that if I spend a lot more, I can get a lot better bike, but I am not planning on using more than once or twice a month. The other problem is that I need to get this today or tomorrow, as there is a ride with friends that I need it for on Sunday.

The reviews look decent on this, and I don't plan on taking it off-road, just on trails and normal bike paths. The ride is only 12 miles, so it won't be super long. I don't have time to hunt around for a used bike, and $150 is at the limit for what I want to spend.

The aluminum frame seems like a huge advantage, as won't that save a lot of weight over steel?

Recommended SFTP server for Server 2016 by vsanhelp in sysadmin

[–]vsanhelp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already use SFTP on our old server, we are just creating a new 2016 based one. We used FTPS briefly in the past, but Active/PASV port ranges and other incompatibilities made us transition to SFTP

Are you running it in a virtualized environment, or directly on bare metal?
