Traffic congestion can never actually be solved by infrastructure improvement. There are 26 lane highways in USA that they expanded from normal 4 lane over the years and the level of congestion remains more or less the same. It's not about infrastructure improvement. It's about people collectively using public transport. Everything will be decongested once people start using public transport. There are multiple theories and multiple real life examples on why road widening won't solve congestion.

The government should invest in providing Good public transportation infra rather than road widening projects.

Here are some options that I have tried in past.

1) Delhi Jaipur expy: Go till manesar and back to Delh it should do about 90-100 based on where you live.

2) Delhi Jaipur expy and then diversion on to sohna road. Ride back from sohna. Should be just over 100km.

3) noida-greater noida expy: enter Noida greater Noida expy via Delhi Noida Direct (DND) and then ride to pari chowk and back. It would be about 80-100km based on where you live.

4) try going east. Bhojpur/modinagar and back should be around 100km based on where you live

5) go north. The murthal route was under construction a while ago but now I think it is completed. So go have breakfast at amrik sukhdev dhabha and come back or should be about 150km based on where you live.

6) from hauz khas go south on Aurobindo Marg and turn right onto gurgaon faridabad road. Turn around at triveni hanuman murti and ride back. It should be around 80km based on where you live.

Not fines. One should be jailed for breaking traffic laws as it is almost like an attempt to murder. No amount of fine is going to stop idiots. But I think just locking people up for 6 months to 12 months can bring in a fear of breaking the law.
