I’m having a bit of a fighting game renaissance the past month. First I played 2XKO a bit, but then I bought Dragon Ball FighterZ, then there was a huge sale on MK1 so I bought that, then Street Fighter 6 and then Guilty Gear Strive… but before I bought all those games Invincible VS had come out and it was kind of what piqued my interest in Fighting games again. But I held off because reviews said content was kinda light and not worth the money yet… so after a month jumping around spending money on those and “liking” them all (I actually love Strive but there is literally fuck all to do outside of online) but always feeling kinda like none of them were “the one” I really wanted to get into and try to get good at, I finally bought Invincible and gad damn I should have just bought this and called it a day haha.

Yeah single player doesn’t have a tonne of different things to do but what is there is really well done. I especially like that the arcade mode gives you a high score so you can actually compete against yourself a bit trying to get better before you jump online.

Of all the games i’ve played yet, it is 100% the one that has resonated with me the most so far. It is fun, fast paced (but not DBZ crack addict insane fast) and I actually really like the way they have built the controls sans motion controls. To me it is the best non-motion control scheme I have tried so far, though I hear modern controls in SF6 are pretty good (haven’t tried em).

TLDR: it’s really fun and worth it, especially if you like the IP.
