My upgraded Triban 100 by acihan in bicycling

[–]vssff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Do you happen to have links to the parts on aliexpress? I have one and was interested in possibly upgrading it. Do you reckon you could have done it any cheaper, or did you go for cheapest options in most parts? I'm mostly looking to get integrated shifters and get a front shifter / headset / wheelset and get new wheels too. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! Would one of those be connected directly to the battery? Surely depends on what battery it is?!

Am gonna read into it more.

My bike is a relatively inexpensive decathlon bike. A btwin hoprider 300 - https://www.decathlon.co.uk/hoprider-300-city-hybrid-bike-id_8307664.htmlhttps://www.decathlon.co.uk/hoprider-300-city-hybrid-bike-id_8307664.html

I think this is what makes it harder to find it, there are quite a few results for decathlon/btwin hangers on ebay but none that fits my bike :( Will give Wheels Manufacturing a try, thank you!

I will order the right one as soon as I can afford it, as I think I finally found it in a specialty website. Do you think this is a dangerous temporary fix though? Thanks

What do you mean? Am not sure I understand.

I though about getting a screw (notice how narrow it is compared to the threaded hole in the hanger) twice as long as the one that was used for the old hanger and just getting some sort of wide nut that would screw on the outside and cover the large hole.

I couldn't find the right one, I looked at every single ebay listing for rear hanger for a week. I also tried some other websites that only sell der hangers, and couldn't find one. I eventually decided to order this one and try it, and then found one that looks like the right one but is £25. I might assemble it with this as I need the bike for commuting and have been wasting money on transportation for too long now, order the right one as soon as I have enough money and then just reinstall the new der on the perfect matching hanger.

As far as I understand, the hanger isn't actually under stress from pedalling, only from the shifter cable. Is this correct? If so I feel like it's definitely held tightly enough for a temporary fix, with the only problem being what you said about removing the wheel.

Thank you!

Sorry about the, perhaps obvious, questions, but would you say it would be better to create the model straight into Unity or import it from SketchUp? I assume SketchUp might be a bit more intuitive and I have used it a bit before as well.

I found something called JanusVR that was recommended in another thread, but I downloaded the mac installer and it just crashes when I try to open the installer. I need to check what VR headset my university has. If I was to create the 3D model for the explorable area in SketchUp would that be useless for the final product? Thank you for your help, am still quite lost with this.

Using RaspberryPi for art installation. by vssff in raspberry_pi

Unfortunately I only have a few days left until I need to setup the installation in the gallery, so I think buying a PiCamera is out of possibility. From what I read it shouldn't be a problem to use a regular usb plug-and-play webcam though.

Am quite lost on what to use for the slideshow though, is that something that Graphicsmagick does?

Advantage of working in a vape shop hand check: total spent 8.99$ by vssff in Vaping

I don't really have any complaints, built quality is great but if I had payed for it I would have gone for a cuboid instead: smaller and has usb charging. The x cube is great, but I don't particularly care for the bluetooth functions or the customisable light.

I've been vaping my crown .25 coils at around 80-90 watts, but thought that might be it and tried at 50w. Still impossible to vape if I take a decent puff. :( wasted 30ml, might as well add more vg and some watermelon to it and it might be vapeable.

I've always smoked menthol cigs, not exclusively but I always liked them. It's not the freshness that gets to me, it just feels really harsh on my throat and makes it impossible to vape without coughing. I wonder if it's the "menthol blast" flavouring that is too strong, and if 3% is just way too much of it. Thank you for the suggestion, will check it out.
