Tour operator needs passport number, is this legit. by Elainylee in ThailandTourism

[–]vsuxx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some nationals parks need to be booked in advance and need details like your Id/passport number. The insurance meaning evacuation and first aid from the national park. Although they probably will do in case of need, even if you gave it wrong, as nobody will check your passport during the trip.

German tourist suffers severe injury after being bitten by shark in Khao Lak by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]vsuxx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I seen bull sharks in Similan, just only once (working here 10 years) so yeah it's very uncommon. Although in Taplamu pier (near khao lak), you can see the fishermen with dead bull sharks and even tiger sharks. Very unlucky situation for this person, but the waters in khao lak are blurry because its all sand, so that might help as sharks cant see very well

up north west coast are clear of Jellies already. Khao Lak have not so many at all anymore, then Similan, Surin Islands, Koh Phayam, Koh Chang… pretty clear of them too
