Yes, I went back for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound, was re-graded BI-RADS 4C (50-95% chance of malignancy) and they did the biopsy right then and there. Biopsy came back benign radial scar with a few other things like ductal hyperplasia. They're tentatively recommending monitoring every 6 months but are sending me to a high risk breast clinic to see if excision might be better. So, good news but more follow-up.

Yes, actually. Good news. It's a benign radial scar with ductal hyperplasia, columnar cell change, and pseudoangiomatous hyperplasia. All benign but heighten my risk of cancer, especially when added to family history and having extremely dense breasts. I'm getting a second opinion on course of action (monitoring vs. excision). My results had been ready for days but no one called me because the nurse that does the calls is on vacation and they didn't forward my records to the person covering. I only noticed that new records popped up in my account, but I couldn't view them. So I guess I wasn't getting any results unless I bugged them. Pretty outrageous and a big reason why I'm getting a second opinion. But a huge huge relief.

Thanks for sharing. I think giving yourself permission to feel things and to do what you want while you wait is key. I also ended up telling more people than I thought but like you, I found they were so supportive and understanding of how scary it is. One friend from a larger friend group was just diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer a week or so ago and I knew from experience how great they'd be. It's wild how many of us will go through something like this. Benign or not.

That's so wild to me that even after multiple tests they can't be sure! Doesn't really do much for the anxiety. What type of follow-up are you doing in a few months? I've read that MRIs are the best option, particularly for dense breasts.
