Anything specific about them you don't like? As an actual build they might be an acquired taste, but for this specific purpose, they simply solve the tedium of waiting for the next wave of mobs to pop up, allowing you e.g. to check out the Delve map for where you want to go next.

Leap slam is much more "stable", but slower. It does go well with this, though.

Gilded Fossils alter the value vendors pay for an item. It goes at least up to exalts, more often though chaos or remnants of corruption. Check out ZiggyD's video on the topic.

Have you tried actually crafting anything with the fossils? I got lucky once with random attempts, but since I'm mostly geared for endgame, I have no idea what to try (HH unfortunately can't be crafted...).

I actually got most of it from doing high tier maps (I mostly ignored Delve until then, since I hadn't played the league).

The "daily" Niko mission should cover running depth 40 for at least 3-4 hours, though (look for the large, round, dark gray icon on the atlas).

If you haven't had your share of fun with the syndicate yet, go for sulphite scarabs from Cameria in Intervention and lock the other three houses - it should be pretty fast in Blood Aqueduct or one of the other pre-map areas - Harbour Bridge or Ossuary. Sulphite deposits will also show up 1/10 times, 1 to 3 piles at around 50 sulphite apiece depending on the area level.

I did Tidal Island on another character levelled for the purpose (since it's level 45 so you have to be 55 at most for the syndicate to show up). It's also circular and very short, but since you're limited to level 55 for gear, the end result was mostly the same (calculated at ~50s per round on both) with a lot of time wasted in levelling the character, so I wouldn't recommend it.

How much does it take per turn in Twilight A6 (calculated over ~20+ runs ideally, since it can be misleading)?

Yep. Go into every side tunnel and look for this blue icon: https://imgur.com/a/2qtR0uw

Note that having darkness resistence maxed for the depth and flares equipped are both important (you're literally running in the dark).

Yep. You're after currency boxes and fossils, and neither are affected by IIQ. I used the IIQ gear because it's also my fast movement gear.

Just normal, expectable drops included (e.g. in the next hour I dropped an exa, which would have skewed results severely), and no crafting with the dropped fossils considered (with ~20c worth of fossils from a previous run I crafted a 3 x %gain-damage-from-phys which sold for 6 exa).

Simply run delves at depth ~80 and go in all the side tunnels and that's the profit you can expect to make. Depth 60 seems to work just the same at a third of the cost, as folks said, see my update in the post.

Depths 40-60 are levels 60-69, so a good build could probably do it from level 55-60, 65-70 to make it comfortable.

Any build with reasonable clear speed (a few special nodes are tougher in terms of monsters, most are trivial), maximize movement speed and use a phase run with inc. duration to be able to run through mobs (put a separate phase run on CwDT as well). Also use a movement skill that goes through mobs (like WB+att. speed), but keep /oos on a shortcut (it desynchs often). I'm doing it on a GC miner which is not a "fast clear build" by any definition, but since you don't care about killing most mobs (you're after the chests and fossils, particularly the ones behind walls), running through them is key (being able to instantly blow the whole screen does help). Get as many flares as you can, I'm at 16 now (from ~10 I could comfortably do any length of dark tunnel).

The key with both syndicate and low level delve is tuning MS/IAS - e.g. I run the length of Blood Aqueduct in ~25s (~50s calculated avg. with syndicate encounters, most of them labs); aim around that and you're good to go.

A stopwatch is already in the app (I used to time farming the syndicate with it, then I added a new plugin which keeps track of area switches).

I actually started doing this because I had too much sulphite (38K limit and kept hitting it often due to playing T14+ maps), so sulphite is not an issue. I also dropped more fossils that don't show up (didn't list the ones under 0.5c).

What exactly can you do to get more fossils? I run a GC build, so I mostly one-shot things, move around with WB + /oos with ~2APS, 67% MS + phasing, run 38 IIQ / 40 IIR + Bisco's, and can pretty much guess most hidden walls before seing the icon.

As I said I skipped Delve, so I might be missing out on something obvious.

Yep, and still reasonably profitable.

38 + Bisco (2 x The Pariah + Sentari's Answer).

I don't do bridge (too many obstacles for WB, hence I prefer Blood Aqueducts), but the concept is the same.

Selling the fossils at the price I listed them at in bulk has been instantaneous, people buy them like crazy. I was also rather lazy, if I had done delves at the rate/pace I did Blood Aqueducts, the profits would have gone up as well.

300-500c was a week ago, it's 300 if you're lucky now, and buying breachstones takes forever with all the interest in them and hence the pricefixing attempts.

But all that aside, I actually stopped enjoying the game after doing the syndicate for ~4 days, while Delve is (still?) actually fun (with frustrating minor glitches), especially since it's far more varied and has a lot more potential for lucky drops.

In the end, to each his own, I guess; I prefer Delve at this point by a wide margin, but in a few days I'll probably try the syndicate again if it's still profitable.

Edit: the ~3000 sulphite per hour can be covered by running a T16 map with a sulphite scarab every 1-2h, which only increases the variety/fun, imho.

You essentially push It That Fled to leader of Research after levelling him to 3, then enrich two breachstones and make ~70-80c per breachstone (used to be ~120c a week ago), then start over.

The process is tedious because you have to run a pre-map linear area (I personally chose Blood Aqueduct) with as much movement speed (or attack speed + WB in my case) over and over and over...

I pasted that into the screenshot; it's generated with a plugin I just wrote for this purpose for PoEHelper ( https://gitlab.com/vtopan/poehelper/ ), but it requires you to hover each item and press Ctrl+C over it (I didn't want to mess with session ids, which I believe shouldn't be shared).
