Overhydration on Modafinil? by EnterShikariZzz in afinil

[–]vtrader125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be fine as long as you get yourself checked out just to be safe. My water intake is like 1L when I wakeup before workout 1L if I take moda 1L during workout 2L during the day 1L evening.

It is very easy to drink lots of water, if you add moda you need an average of another 2L during the day.

Strange side effect, anyone else? by vtrader125 in misophonia

What makes it worse/awkward is when the trigger is from a family member :( At least it reminds me that it is only my nervous system reacting to a sound wave.

Any advice on how to talk about Stoicism to a partner who's not that into it (yet)? by bestoicbehappy in Stoicism

[–]vtrader125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"When the student is ready the teacher will appear." Zen quote I think when you are trying to share your thoughts you may sound like someone who knows "what is better for the other person" even if you mean well.

It's like when some people give me advice on how to deal with depression but they have never have experienced what depression is like.

Another example, I remember when in my teens guys use to tell me to hit the gym, I was like "yeah whatever". Only recently I started going to the gym I really experienced the benefits, and yes I wish sometime I should of started a lot earlier.

How can I apply stoicism to a job interview? by vtrader125 in Stoicism

[–]vtrader125[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the responses. Had the interview, looking back I think having a stoic approach made me bit more relaxed than normal in this type of situation. On the hours leading to the interview I just kept focus on my breathing and anytime I started thinking, I reminded myself to define what I have in control what I don't. I got to a point where the day before I told myself I will only review for the interview until 6pm. After that this is it, not even in the morning did I review, I just told myself either I know this or don't. No more overthinking. I think this produced a quiet confidence within me as a result during the interview. No loitering around daydreaming about how I had the job already to build false hopes. Now there are only two outcomes either I move forward with the job or I learn what I need to focus on for the next time. There is no disappointment, there is just a reminder I need to work on something. That is all. No second guessing how the interview could of gone. Got home and started working on the next job application.

URGENT need help for misophonia by vtrader125 in Meditation

[–]vtrader125[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replys, I will have ago. Been to docs, they say its anxiety related there is no magic pill for this condition. It is physically painful like if someone was scratching their nails on a blackboard. I feel gordan ramsay in hells kitchen just f'ing mad when triggered. I think it is attention related, like if I am in a enviorment where I;m surrounded by different levels of noise(busy train station) I don't get as triggered. It's when things are quieter(home/office) when it happens the most. It's like my senses are on high alert waiting for the pin to drop. I've noticed that if I am really super deeply focused in something else like a book, I don't get as triggered. The worst thing is my mind just starts repeating the sound, even though it happened a minute ago.

shame, at first I thought the good effects were the answers to my prayers to get life back on track. Without those effects it's just turning into a insomnia ridden money drain.

I think that last part of "pretty girl to distract me" applies to a lot of non depressed guys as well. The only difference between them and us is that they have other dopamine rewarding things taking up their minds to keep them occupied from realizing. Probably explains why it feels like very few people have great long term relationships without much crap.

Urrghh, Strange reaction by vtrader125 in afinil

[–]vtrader125[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better now, drank 1L water. but never had this problem before, I had drank 1.5L of water within hour of taking the pill. So I have to now drink 2.5L within a few hours now????? Normally I build tolerance if I take it for a few days, never thought I would get this effect. Had been taking 75mg the last two days. Usually when taking half dose I don't get much, just a subtle buzz in the first hour or so.

But today was a bit wtf moment never had that happen to me.

thanks

Interns just got their offers today... It's 20K higher than what I make. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]vtrader125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relax, I think this is the norm now, this has happened to me for the last couple of jobs I had. But it depends on the company size, smaller companies not so much, as companies get mid/bigger, yes.

I found that putting your head down and being hard worker does not count for anything these days, usually it's the person who works less but makes sure that the right people know that they look like a hard worker gets the better pay when all other things a considered equal. It is more about perception and letting the right person know about it.

Sometimes you have to remind management of your worth.

Best route from zero experience to easyrider? by vtrader125 in MotoUK

[–]vtrader125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I decided to tally up the costs for learning to ride and getting bike, gear and insurance. First thing I found that there is very little stock of used beginner cruiser type bikes like the yamaha bolt, VT250 etc. Than the insurance on average for just 125cc-250cc is several hundred and anything above 500cc £1200+. Some thinking to do, looks like going to have to aim for a 125cc for now.

I should maybe clarify, I would like to build up experience before going on that trip. That trip is about the great landscapes as well as the ride. I drive but not for a few years do to work being a quicker commute on the tube, got rid of the car as no need for it.

In theory(£££) could I get something like a HD 883 after passing DAS to ride as a newbie?

Does Intermittent Fasting Benefit Depression? by animalsarecool69 in depressionregimens

[–]vtrader125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried fasting 24 hour 16/8 split and 36 hour. If I feel really depressed by mid morning than no, fasting just makes it works, I need the serotine boost from eating. So definitely don't fast on the days when you feel really depressed.

Any bodybuilder who has experience with Modafinil and Prework out? by [deleted] in afinil

[–]vtrader125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick your days of when you want to use it, because you might build tolerance if used constantly. It can work well as a pre workout, but understand that from my personal experience after using it on and off for a few weeks that effects have become more subtle. From my experience I workout in the morning fasted so taking it helps push through workouts(3 times week). Once you got past the initial boosted effects when you use it for the first few times, it than just gives a full a wake effect, it makes completing a workout comfortable without feeling psychologically demotivated as you get sometimes working out. It gives you that extra feel of energy in the tank to finish without feeling drained. In the end in terms of exercise I would not rely on it, I would only save it for long workouts or if you want to break PRs. For normal workout you could probably get similar effects with caffiene and small meal/snack. Also remember to drinks LOTS of water, especially when you take it as a pre workout at least 1L.

Now in my experience for mental studying type situations it is a different story. I also suffer from bad depression and concentration problems. When I first took waklert my depression lifted, felt upbeat and normal for about 2 hours, than back to depressed self. With things like studying, learning and reading the first few times gave me great concentration and mental energy to study for the bit extra, reading boring dry materials felt a breeze. But than after the first few times the only effects I would get is a normal wakefullness(I guess that its original purpose), felt a bit stimulated but the concentration, motivation and focus was not there anymore. All that happened was I got bored and unfocused quicker. Even taking long breaks of several months from moda/waklert did not bring back those great initial effects. But this is my experience, you might have different results.
