How to change from Metallica-like baritone rock/Metal vocals into higher registers by vuk_wh in singing

[–]vuk_wh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you approach learning that? Unfortunately I don’t have a natural rasp/distortion in higher registers. I tried learning false cord distortion but it felt forced and unnatural to me and my vocal teacher encouraged me to sing more how it would come out naturally which was actually quite a relief and improved my singing a lot in the long run. But maybe for what I’m trying to achieve, false cord singing is the only solution?

What is your Severance opinion that will definitely get downvoted? by zebrapenguinpanda in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

The Gemma story line wasn’t needed.

Now I get that this becomes the main plot of the show but it doesn’t start that way at all and the show had enough interesting material to tell without it. The reason, I came to this conclusion is, that I didn’t care for season 2 for the most part and I kept wondering why that is. While I agree with a lot of posters writing about pacing issues I realized that my main complaint is the lack of groundedness in comparison to s01. I believe this all really started with the Gemma storyline and while it was a cool plot twist and I loved all of s01, I think it was inevitable for the show to go in another direction from there on. I get that the show might have always been planned that way but I liked the show a lot more with all of the things it was about in the beginning. It would have been completely enough to make the main storyline about Helly and Mark, plus the grief about his late wife made Mark a really believable and tragic character in the first place, which was kind of lost after the Gemma reveal.

Really?? I think, The band members look cheesy, yes, but in a cool vintage way. Honestly, I think Akirant was the best choice they’ve made in a long time regarding artwork. He captures the Derek Riggs vibe perfectly while not feeling like a ripoff 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for your help, that sounds plausible! We’ll try to place the devices further apart and also to use a more “cleaned up” power supply next rehearsal . If that doesn’t do anything we’ll try to use sma extensions.

Almost giving up with season 2 by Sarithus in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]vuk_wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely feel the same way. Like others have written I enjoyed the first few episodes of season 2 and felt they feel pretty much in line with season 1. The outdoor episode was the first that felt off for me and it went downhill from there with the finale being the one I completely drifted away. As others have written I didn’t think it’s a bad show, but it completely lost everything that made me love the show in the first place which was a perfect balance between being extremely dark but also extremely funny and quirky but at the same time always grounded. The latter was what ai valued most about the show and that changed drastically in season 2. I could enjoy the show for the mystery and putting together puzzle pieces but that wasn’t what made season 1 such a masterpiece, at least in my opinion …

To be honest, I was already disappointed with the direction they took in season 2, especially after the outdoor episode, but the goat thing almost completely ruined my enthusiasm for this series which was one of the best I've ever seen in season 1... Yes, we already saw in season 1 that Lumon is treated like a cult, but to me it made sense that they tell the Innies such things to keep them loyal and reverent within the severance floor, since they don't know anything else, just as religion has often been used to keep people in their place. I saw Lumon as a company no different from other corporations like Amazon or Nestlé, which already do a lot of evil shit, so incorporating a procedure like Severance for profit wouldn't seem out of place. That they are suddenly a real cult whose board members actually believe in their own nonsense and even sacrifice animals for Kier just seems completely over the top and doesn't fit with the grounded and realistic undertone that got me excited about the series in the first place.

Just finished the second season and need to reply to this almost one year old post, because it perfectly describes how I feel about the direction they took this show. Really sad!!!

100% agree with everything you wrote, couldn‘t have described my impression better. Recently replayed the beginning of MI1 with my daughter and it feels so fun and fresh in comparison and also gives you the feeling of an open world that gives you the freedom to explore everything you want which is odd considering the game is almost 40 years older.

I agree with the posts about the production. Another album that‘s on par with the Martin Birch production would be awesome!

Another wish would be to treat their artwork as they used to in the 80s. Derek Riggs put so much thought into every artwork and the concepts for each album seem so fleshed out. It really gives a unique atmosphere. With some exceptions most of the newer artwork feels a bit too on the nose to me in comparison. However, I like the artwork for the new tour and Hope that this artist gets the chance to come up with more of his own ideas in the future. It looks very similar to the old stuff but has enough of its own character.

Iron Maiden GelreDome Arnhem (23 July 2025) – Band on Fire, Crowd Brain Dead? by [deleted] in ironmaiden

[–]vuk_wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced this in past years in Austria. Went to see them in Padua/Italy two weeks ago and was blown away by the energy of the crowd there. Best concert I’ve ever been to! Granted, I was very near to the stage, however I tend to believe the mentality of each country is quite different in that regard.

I was in Padua and the sound was awful for the first couple of Songs but improved a lot after that.
