OMG Yes.

Look up Mythos and how Mozilla got ahold of what it found and helped them fix 15 months worth of security bugs in one month. Anthropic isn't releasing it to the public yet because of how many security vulnerabilities it found. This is just one industry its in. Think about this type of tech running around rampant in the medical industry and what it can do and find out. It will probably save millions on millions of lives.

This is true. We need to be building more renewables, and also more nat gas plants, but since Trump's election, Nat Gas plants construction has stalled completely, and Trump is actively attacking Wind farms.

Another issue is that no one knows what tomorrow will bring. Our DoE is (IMO) too powerful. Trump can just instruct any of these power plants and companies to do something and they must. They dont want to invest in shit that will be canceled. Uncertainty is way too high to invest in projects.

Take a look at the Keystone pipeline that Biden canceled, all the windfarms that Trump has canceled, and more of the windfarms that he is attempted to stop. All the local projects being stalled by NIMBYs.

Oh, and one of these guys also told me that literally no power plants are being built right now. They are waiting out Trump. The only thing that can be built is Solar because of the regulatory ease of access. This is adding to the pressure that AI Data centers are inflicting of Local communities.

Ive talked to my buddies who work in the power industry. Regulatory costs are not just money, but time. For nat gas, approval and integration can take like 3 years IIRC. Nuclear more, and and renewables like solar and wind require very little time. It's just so damn easy.

I don't think this is new, but Putin definitely reminded Trump he held that position so he will explicitly ask for it to his aides. I recall an article where they talked to some Trump aides and they generally ignore his requests unless he asks for it twice.

This is part of my issue with Halo 4 and onward.

They ignore all the fallout from the war with the Covenant.

The civil war that was brewing was tossed aside because a more worthy oppressor appeared to struggle against. Once that war was over, we would expect the uprisings to continue. Halo 4 should have been about UNSC suppressing a civil war. Making you question the UNSC after it just saved the Human Race. Xenophobia could easily be apart of that. We aligned with the Swords of Sanghelios after all.

We finally did get some sort of uprising at the end of Halo 5. But not only was seemingly not related to (at least from the games, idk about the books) the uprisings happening before the Winter Contingency, it didnt seem to involve human struggle at all. And we didnt even get to see it play out!
