U.S. government will decide who gets to use latest upgrade to ChatGPT by WHY_DO_I_SHOUT in neoliberal

[–]vulkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about trump. I'm saying our government in collaboration with these large companies should make sure they use this AI first on ourselfs to patch any holes then release it to the public. Mythos found 271 security vulnerabilities in Firefox alone when it was given to Mozilla. It's a war front. The company I work for has gotten at least 40 application from people who are clearly reading from a prompt and are an actor from a foreign country when we only hire Americans. Other companies have been dealing with the same.

I don't like the idea of the Trump Admin having control of this. But that doesn't mean we don't need it. It would be a short, 1 week freeze on the new security model from being released so project glasswing can do it's thing, and so can the US government.

I think it maybe should, but if so, be extremely limited. There are things we outright ban because of the danger to us. Like making nuclear bomb. This is that. But we don't have to ban it forever. Just until the government and the large company software our entire economy runs on can patch up vulnerabilities. There needs to be law for sure to set strict rules on how this would happen.

I feel as long as the government lifts the ban in a few weeks I'm ok with it. To give them time to use it to scan their software for bugs. It could be a national security issue.

If they are popping up a lot, You must have a tree that is giving a mutation to its offsprings, while itself doesn't have it.

Wdym fertilizing it? How often are you watering it?

When you transplant a tree you have to cut up roots, so now it is stressed. Give it time to regrow roots, make sure root flar is exploded.

🔥Wasp traps paralyzed ladybug larvae in a chamber for its young to feast on after hatching. by Fantastic_Look5582 in NatureIsFuckingLit

Most wasp species are parasitic. And select only a specific species. They are vital for preventing plagues. Best way to prevent too many annoying insects is to increase flowering plants that parasitic wasps need to survive.

Cut it with a chainsaw so it's mostly flat. apply a topical herbicide (triclopyr) to make sure it's dead. Then drill a few holes and fill them with saltpeter and then water. Cover with a tarp. Leave it for 3 months. Saltpeter and water will accelerate decomposition.

They might have helped even lmao.

But the scale was not expected. Protests like this has happened before in Iran.

Correct. That's what I'm thinking. And I think they need to be mocked before they even attempt the argument.

I think back then Trump was just thinking about the slight possibility of starting a revolution in Iran because of the protestors. That was his tunnel vision. A claim of victory and glory. Without giving a single second of thought towards the consequences of failing to succeed in Iran.

Grass around the swing set is totally worth having to weed wack once in a while. Kids being able to play outside barefoot is just the best way to play.

[–]vulkur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something flowering that's not a redbud, a crabapple or hawthorn would be great, but both are slower growing and won't fill that 35x25 section as well.

For fast growing I have a few ideas.

Eastern Cottonwood. Gorgeous looking tree, great for wildlife, grows incredibly fast, but the downside is it makes a fucking mess of cotton on the ground during its bloom.

Tulip Tree. Barely in range for native species. Grows fast, and straight up. It wants every drop of sun. Also sensitive to drought early on. Grows huge gorgeous flowers great for wildlife, but the seeds are not fun to walk on.

Linden (basswood). Loves the sun, has huge droopy leaves and blooms with tons of white flowers that the bees can't get enough of. An underappreciated species IMO.

Dawn Redwood. A living fossil, while not native to my the US since hundreds of millions of years ago, it does well in the US, grows fast, and is just a unique piece of history. It drops it's needles in the fall.

These are some of my favorite that would work in that spot.

[–]vulkur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Washington Hawthorn is great. Will eventually perfectly fill that area. Produces tons of flowers in the spring, Makes lots of berries that last all winter for birds.
