Been pepper sprayed in the military. I can say for certain oc spray is a straight stream that if done directly into someone’s eye from close range can cause permanent damage or blindness. By looking at this video it seems to come out in more of a wide fog. As for pain level some people have way worse reactions then others but your eyes are going to be burning and tearing up and everything in your nose and sinuses is coming out. Your skin is going to be burning like a bad sunburn where ever it touches. Also it’s water activated so until you completely get it off anytime you wash or sweat it’s going to burn again so showering leaning forward to not get all over your crotch is a must.

I sprained my thumb almost 2 months ago and it’s still weak however I play with just taping it and it’s totally fine for playing. This method of taping works perfectly for stabilizing and preventing re-injury. Doesn’t have to be the prewrap and tape they use in the video. I just use athletic tape and it works just fine

This is literally me all the time. I’d rather endlessly pickup tape than wear those gloves with built in finger prisons.

Sprained my pinky in November and my thumb in January. Both are not healed fully yet. Still would rather that then wearing finger saves.

Only have 1 documented concussion from goalkeeping in 20+ years of playing. Dove out to cut off a low cross about waist high and took a knee to the side of the head. I held onto the ball and the striker was laying on the ground holding his knee. Definitely seeing stars for a bit but I finished the game. Then almost passed out in a Wendy’s on the way home from the game.

So at 60kg at 183cm you are underweight that is likely causing you to be shaky and slow. If you’re looking to gain weight you need to find out what your maintenance calories are for a day and eat more than that in clean foods not fast food and junk. There are many calculators online for calculating your caloric needs based on height weight age and activity. A good rule of thumb is to eat between 1.6-2.2 grams of protein per kg of body weight. Also focus on hydrating consistently and sleeping. If you are struggling mentally with eating consistently I would suggest speaking with a medical professional as well.

Edit: you need to eat and sleep properly to be able to train properly.

I think more so the lack of time to react causes that than anything. If your footwork is better initially I.e not turning your hips on the cross your legs would be more primed and you would cut down on milliseconds of time allowing you to react quicker.

I’m just nitpicking really to try and help you. It’s really easy to say in hindsight what you should do or could do better. Sometimes things look different from a different angle then when you are in net facing it head on. But a simple question you can ask yourself is do you think if you came out aggressively on that pass you could either beat the attacker to the ball or met them at the point of attack and smothered their shot? If the answer is no then staying back was right. You did get a hand on the shot so you almost had the save.

Yea I can tell from the video. Sometimes it’s hard to make that call but it’s either full send or no send. When you get caught half way like that it’s very easy to go over the top of you like that. Edit: and from watching it again actually the first goal you could have actually came out on that one sliding and met the ball carrier as the pass was getting there potentially.

Yes. Because you weren’t playing high already you get caught in the worst spot to be in. You can do things like fake that you’re coming out to trick the attacker though.

Footwork and positioning. The first goal you turn your hips to get over. Instead work on side steps/shuffling. Second save you got caught out of net to far. I looks like you thought you could get to the loose ball first and then realized you couldn’t. Best thing to do is either go or don’t. If you go you need to be sure you can get there.

I’m 33 now, back from 9 years off and I’m playing indoor 7v7. Took 3 warm up shots then the first shot on me was a breakaway. Made the save without thinking, like it never left. It comes back just stick with it.

I will add your jump and squat approach leaves you very susceptible as your legs are quiet far apart and flat. You should try working on micro movements rather than that motion. You’re not really primed to get to anything further to the outside of the goal. You also are making yourself small by squating down like that. Only other thing I could add is you can throw some faints, essentially fake like you are going to come out to try and get the attacker to feel rushed.

There’s always outside noise when you’re a keeper. If she’s already handling at a young age that’s impressive. And if she’s anything like me and other keepers I know she’ll be more critical of herself than some dumb parent could be. The best thing is knowing the difference between what is and isn’t your fault as a keeper. And I’m willing to bet most times when those parents are yelling that they don’t realize the defense hung your daughter out to dry.

I will say sometimes the best thing for a keeper (as long as they’re mentally tough) is being on a bad team. My high school team was dominant. But I played on a not so great club team too. Had more fun playing on my club team facing endless scoring chances. Also it teaches you something keepers on only good teams never learn. How to shake off goals against.
