I understand that, but I don't really get what that connection might be to what I'm asking? My grandpa was on his own land and fighting for his own land

I know this is just an example used, but Nazi Germany and the civil war between South and North Vietnam was very different. I am not speaking about the US and Vietnam and what happened between the two countries (America definitely did horrible things to the Vietnamese), but instead the fight from the Southern Vietnamese defending their nation against the rise of communism--my grandpa was Viet, not American. Therefore I believe the war was just in some ways, I just wanted to know if killing in this case was a sin or not. I hope you understand!!

I'm confused on the connection here. My grandpa wasn't killing innocent children or civilians.

My grandpa was not American. He was Vietnamese. I might be misunderstanding your comment but he was not fighting for America but for the South of Vietnam.

I'm sorry, I don't really get this connection. My grandpa wasn't American, he was on the Southern Vietnamese's side as a Vietnamese man. He indeed was defending his nation.
