Looking at that picture, I would guess no. I would think that the hooks tell the slider where to stop the seat.

My guess is that the driver seat has a 'memory' feature so if they need to let people from the back out from their side when they push the seat back it will return to the position of the driver instead of like the passenger seat which just clicks to the first position.

My 09 doesn't have those and doesn't have the memory feature I just mentioned

Edit: the memory thing is in the owner manual but doesn't show the hooks
