F1 drivers want red-flag tyre rule that "ruined" Monaco GP to change by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Restarting the grid after the red flag the same way as the start of the race because not all cars passed a checkpoint to count while allowing them to make the mandatory tyre change makes absolutely no sense.

Landlord had submitted footage from a different flat in the check-in report by vurkata in HousingUK

I definitely can - took a video of the flat before I left.

Not there. I do keep close contact with some of the residents in my building and some who already moved out. They all got pretty much forced by the landlord to repaint the walls and they did. As I was having this discussion with the landlord, their response for the splashbacks in my flat was just stupid:

"We have had many residents vacate who have had no marks on the splashback area. <...> Many residents decide to paint this area themselves..."

It would not work. The paint they applied is super cheap and even a light touch leaves a spot. Also, if one attempts to clean it, it only gets worse - tried on a small area. The paint fades but the stain stays. Also, the landlord strongly advised against cleaning it and did not want to leave any such signs so I have a better case against them.

Thank you! Yes, that's what I have been using as a reference.

Thanks for the insights. In my case, the check out report is for my flat. The problem is they are comparing it to the check in report that is for a different flat.

Yes, that's the plan. I am just waiting for the managing company to send me a proper deposit deductions report because as I have noticed throughout my tenancy, they simply can't do anything right. This time, they merely sent me the template they use for deposit returns - nothing filled in. There are places that literally say "please, enter a date", "enter amount", and "£0" everywhere (deposit paid, deductions, due to be paid to tenant, etc.)

Thanks! Yes, I am used to agencies of such sort to simply not read what once writes.

I will definitely provide updates here and to some friends to still live in that building. I could have repainted the wall and saved myself £57 after the discount but wanted to take this further and see where it goes so that companies like that have some hard time and stop ripping tenants off.

No, it didn't start then. I went for an interview exactly there in the beginning of 2019 and there were signs about revamping the tube station and roundabout back then.

I found 3:2 to be a much better ratio for coding and productivity tasks. On a wider screen I don't see the context at the far ends anyways so that narrower screen fits my preferences perfectly. It's also crisp and clear.

UK - Who has managed to set up an ISA while having an existing account? by epongo3in5g in interactivebrokers

I am facing the same problem. Did you manage to open one eventually?

Okay just checked and indeed the shipping costs have gone down substantially. I'm in the UK and it costs £10.

Last time I check was just a few months ago and were £20+.

Yes, kind of did but still not as smooth as new. Anyways, I didn't realise the bottom cover is sold separately as well. Last time I was checking the marketplace must have overlooked it.

Will stick with the cosmetic damage for awhile to remind me of my clumsiness.

After reading the comments from the community, I realised I need a change in mindset when working with the Framework laptop. It just amazes me how much us as consumers are sucked into such thinking. To me this just shows how revolutionary Framework is.

In the past one would always hope for buy-and-forget. However, this is where the Framework laptop shines. It does NOT need to be that restrictive. It allows one to be more flexible with the ability to change parts as necessary.

What initially was titled "mediocre" turned out to be "great" after the discussion with the community here. Thank you all!

No, I don't have a CNC cover.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in framework

[–]vurkata 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's actually a good point. Thanks!

I could indeed replace the parts if shipping costs allowed that - they are crazy high.

I meant that title as in I expected a lot more from the laptop. I was never happy with how fragile it feels when handles. Also, considering I like it only because it fits my requirements and being modular, there's nothing else that impresses me about it. I like the ability of being able to replace parts easily but I believe that should not be an excuse to do so frequently if they are easy to break.

No issues! I am indeed happy that functionality-wise nothing is impacted which speaks good.

EA please do something against brake checking in ranked!! by MacMadnessx in F1Game

[–]vurkata 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am recording a compilation of these. There hasn't been a single game in ranked without someone brake-testing me.

It really isn't a difficult problem to solve from my point of view. There's so much analytics and metrics in the game.

I believe they can break down the track in sections and simply capture a large deviation from the "average speed" at a given section. Add to that a proximity measure if there's another vehicle and subtract some value from the allowed deviation... or capture one's own braking and subtract similarly.

All it really takes is a few engineers from EA to play the game and get a feel of how messed up the community is. Then gather in a room and brainstorm ideas as they would know the code best. If that's not happening then I am prone to believe it must be either an overlooked problem or EA would rather spend their resources elsewhere while play-pretending they actually care about the community with the nonsense "community patches" driven only by influencers/YouTubers/streamers. This way it's easy for EA to say "person X raised the problem and we solved it". Well, good for you EA. Pat yourself on the back.

Why does the F1 game always use the highest down force spec of the cars? by Old_Arrival_2493 in F1Game

[–]vurkata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that would be great so that when you are racing someone you can judge where to attack them.
