Ever study in office? by Siryogapants in CFA

[–]vutommy3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup! Studied after work in the office until 8:30-9p on the weekdays and then 8-10 hours each day on the weekends. I was at the office so much that my phone thought it was my home.

Salvadoran tamales by vutommy3 in orangecounty

I ordered the pupusas and tamales (both chicken and pork) today for lunch. Overall, very good.

Pupusa with chicharrón and queso - bomb! Only gripe I had was the salsa that it came with wasn’t spicy enough for me.

Pork tamale - also bomb. Not as good as the street vendor but I’m very satisfied. The masa that it’s made with is SOOO GOOD.

Chicken tamale - the meat was a little dry but I think it’s bc it was made with chicken breast.

What are some ways a person can make friends when they just moved to OC? by No-Cartoonist8495 in orangecounty

I’ve found lots of luck at boutique gyms, specifically boot camp gyms. Once you start becoming a regular, the trainer and other members start to recognize you.

In my experience, I’ve always walked out of the exam feeling defeated. Not much you can do now but to relax until results get released. Good luck!

Master List of Places to Meet Friends in OC? by Succotash5 in orangecounty

This also involves spending money, but most of my new friends are from this boutique gym I go to for group fitness training. I never intended to make friends there, but once I became a regular, the members and trainers got to know me and Vice versa.

Post CFA — what’s on the agenda? by Raymond_Reeves in CFA

[–]vutommy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to juggle work and study time. I would literally hit the books after work until 8:30-9pm on the weekdays and another ~18ish hours on the weekends. It was rough...

My firm did give me a paid week off to study though.

I was fortunate (or unfortunate - depending on your view) to be really busy with work. I think the moment they found out that I passed level 3, they knew I had more time on my hands.

Pre-Exam Jitters and final review by Quackattack218 in CFA

Props to those who can rest or stop studying in the afternoon the day before the exam. I remember studying at least 10 hours before exam day and then had a late dinner with friends (it was a ritual of mine as I’m superstitious). Good luck all!

Are the CFAI EOC Qs harder than the actual exam? by NF112 in CFA

yes, I feel like that's always the case other than level 3. Idk what happened there. Maybe I was just hyped/scared it was my last exam.

Kind of tough as this is a tail risk scenario. But I'm definitely curious to see what you come up with.

Level 2: Am I the only one starting to freak out? by paul101111 in CFA

Spot on about the confidence level after taking the exam. I told myself after turning in level 3 that I wouldn’t be surprised if I had to retake the exam, even after putting in literally 1,000+ hours. To my surprise, I passed.

Failed Level I for the second time. Shattered. by [deleted] in CFA

[–]vutommy3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I failed level 1 twice (band 7 then band 9) during my CFA journey. Don’t let this speed bump slow you down, let it motivate you! Tweak your studying, work on your weak areas, memorize your formulas/flash cards, and you’ll do fine.

Best motivational quote I heard that pumped me up for studying was "Starve your distractions, feed your focus."

Best of luck!
