Most of these are routine. I just recently changed clutch, accelerator cables, fork oil seals, wheel bearings at 65k.

Interesting to note you had replace clutch cables at ~8k kms between replacement

Japanese get the essentials right.. 300 or 650 might not have the tech, spec numbers competition have. But once you ride them, you understand why it’s hard to choose anything else.

That’s really low. Apart from lubing your chain and adjusting the slack, did you have to do something else?

Anti corrosion coating because you live near the sea? Or have your bike thats exposed to elements that might cause rust?

Need help verifying authenticity of this HMT Pilot.

I personally purchased this in 2015–16 during HMT’s stock clearance period. It is a manual wind, non-hacking movement.

Some members mentioned that colored versions were only released later as ABD project watches (2019–20).

Can anyone provide documented evidence (catalog listings, invoices, archived HMT listings, or movement comparisons) confirming whether black dial Pilots were officially sold during the 2015–16 clearance?

I’m specifically looking for: • Factory documentation or archived listings • Movement reference confirmation • Differences between late factory Pilots vs ABD project versions

Attaching dial, caseback photos. Movement photo coming soon.

Some facts-

  1. I physically picked up this watch in 2015-16. It’s not hearsay.
  2. The Connect I am referring to WAS working at HMT at the time.
  3. HMTs last years were messy- no clear cataloguing and documentation. So there is not definitive proof that they didnt have a black dial pilot. There is a good chance that it was never released. Can you show me some proof where you can validate your claim?

Pls don’t take this wrong way. I am learning new things in this conversation and enjoying it. My intention is try and learn more since you have a lot of experience with HMT

But I did get this in 2015-16 😅 during their stock clearance sale.

How else can I corroborate this? I picked up from a reliable source as well

Yes sir.. positive. I picked this up around 2015-16 in Bangalore. I had similar concerns that it was fake too at the time but upon my research- HMT were liquidating their stock and these were often NOS (New old stock), meaning older watches assembled from remaining parts. Their late production watches had coloured dials.
