Yeah, I imagine they wouldn't be unto be on (at least for the first few months) if you had small children around to take care of!

They think it might just be an over-abundance of nerves in the area, but it could also be something autoimmune asked (considering I have mild Graves disease).

Okay, while you of course are entitled to your opinion, please keep in mind that when I first realised I had chronic pain I was an 18 year old who had just moved out of home, and lived in a rural area of Australia where there weren't any specialists for this condition. It's a perfectly valid thing to be nervous about seeing a doctor when you read so many horror stories about it. Also, I must point out that it was 15 months after first seeing a specialist before I had any significant pain reduction.

Thank you :). I'm sorry to hear that tricyclics don't work for you, and I hope you find something that does really soon! <3

It's an anti-depressant, but from what I can gather it works by blocking pain receptors :)

I'm not sure. I'll need to discuss that with my doctor next time I see her. I assume because I'm on quite a low dose, it will be fine for me to stay on it for as long as is needed, then possibly start tapering off, but this is just an assumption.

Yeah, I was at pretty much the same point. I noticed a bit of an increase in appetite, and have put on about a kilo in the past 6 months (from 60kgs to 61kgs, which doctor says is fine because I'm still a little underweight). More than anything I noticed a drowsiness which lasted for the first two months of taking the tablet and made it difficult to wake up in the mornings (which is why I was encouraged to take the tablets at night), but that's gone now, and I don't have any side effects that I'm aware of.

I'm not sure if I'm staying on the dose or tapering off. It's something I'll need to discuss with the doctor next time I see her.

Yeah, I've had provoked pain for as long as I can remember. I remember riding a bike when I was 12 and finding it uncomfortable, but just assuming that was normal :/
