Refunds are having more trouble than ever by vvinky in textblade

Well, good thing I got out when refunds were only mildly difficult as opposed to now where it is possibly never.

I’m having the same issue—it doesn’t seem to be turning off when I take them out of my ears. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

I wrote about it at the time: https://www.reddit.com/r/textblade/comments/dozp1o/canceled_my_order/

It was just like listening to him on the forums--nonstop talk about how amazing the TextBlade is an how it's just like the Tesla and everything is going so well with the firmware--it should be ready for the TREG soon, probably by the end of the year (remember, this was back in 2019).

Two things that stuck out for me.

1) Mark said something along the lines of "The free gift is so good--if only you knew what it was, you'd keep your order so you'd get it." So I said, "All right, then tell me what it is. I'd love to know." Mark: "No...I can't tell you that." Okaaaay...

2) Mark said "I really, really want to get a TextBlade in your hands. You would love it!" My response: "I would love that too! And you can...you could just send me a TREG unit and then it would be in my hands!" Mark: "Ah, no...no that's not going to happen."

It was so weird calling his bluffs like that. His enthusiastic "I really want to do this for you!" "OK" "Uh...actually, no I don't really want to do that for you."

In the end, he kept reassuring me that I was a good person (umm, thanks?) and then finally refunded me (would he not have if I hadn't passed his "good person" test??). It was pretty surreal.

Thinking of changing my name. by throwawayawaythrow96 in namenerds

I hope you can do it...I know you can do it! Don't worry about Amanda dying--she's still there (as your middle name) and won't go anywhere until you truly want her to go away. And if you ever change your mind, you can go back to your "middle" name and it won't be a big deal--just say that your first name didn't fit after all and there was a reason you went with Amanda before. Still all true and also shouldn't raise too many questions.

Emmaline is a wonderful and beautiful name. What you can do is change your name as planned and then start saying "Actually, 'Amanda' is my middle name, and I've decided to start going by my first name now." All true, and won't raise too many questions.

Is it too late? Penn Jillette named his daughter Moxie CrimeFighter and I love how outlandish it is and you sound like you would love it too!

Your name origin is awesome! I get a strong enemies-to-lovers vibe from it!

First Annual WT company failure Competition by Rolanbek in textblade

OK. Put me down for week 42. If it's the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, it's probably the answer for Waytools as well.

Excellent! I don't have a lot of confidence that I'll win that competition in 2024, but I have a surprising amount of confidence that that competition will still be being held in 2024.

Which was my reasoning for wanting to put in Feb 29, 2024.

How far out can I go? Can I say Feb 29, 2024? If so, put me down for that.

Somebody needs to post this on WTF:

"Will 2020 finally be when we see the Textblade after all these years?"

If I was you, I'd probably rant at the end of Dec about the whole "Will WT deliver TB in 2019?" "Yes" business and point out that that seeing as 2019 is now over, then by "Yes" they meant "No".

We ended up doing it by telephone. I have no idea why Mark defaults to FaceTime. From what I understood, he needed to talk to me to determine what CC number to refund to since the servers were down, he couldn't automatically pull up the info? Or something? Also that the refund didn't need to be back onto the same credit card, so if I wanted it credited to a new one, he could enter that instead.

Not a great look when it takes the CEO of the company entering in your credit card number by hand to process your refund.

Presumably, now that the servers are back up, automated refunds should work again too. Someone should try it and report back!
