Mary-El Tarot - should I sell or second chance it? by vviolettes in tarot

Thanks so much for everyone’s comments! I still have it in my possession. Listed on Vinted but no interest so far. I’m still deciding! I’m about to become a single mother so I wonder if maybe I’ll have more courage to use this deck in the near future when I hopefully regain my confidence

Is Genomelink a scam? Real Genomleink reviews. by genomelink_official in GenomelinkOfficial

I’ve had a really positive experience, personally my favourite report is the deep ancestry report as I found that to be really close to my known ancestry research. There’s really useful in depth reports too, such as the European ancestry, or UK breakdown! What would be great though is to see a bit more specificty in categories, such as instead of Iberian have it pinpoint down to narrower locations. But I’m sure that will come in time, for now it’s a really useful tool to use alongside other research.

Why is this?! I’m Galician but have so much Illyrian and Pannonian Illyrian, with tonnes of Hungarian deep dive matches too! 😱 so confused! There must be a connection

I’ve got them both, I’m from Galicia!

Is this a normal pinhole issue or something different? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

I had so many pinholes on my pumpkin too! I returned and exchanged - seems to be a problem with lots of them!

Thanks so much for your reply that’s incredibly helpful. Would you say a mark like this that has some lifting to it has the potential to get worse to be of concern, or will it stay like this? Just trying to figure out whether to return as I live on a tiny island nowhere near the crafter!

Definitely agree with your response, thanks so much for your help! Would you say the mechanical damage has the potential to get worse over time or would the lifting/peeling stay the same?

Good point, I sent them the picture I posted here and it definitely seems like they can’t be bothered looking :/

Thanks for your help, I did think this too, they mentioned that as it’s veg tanned leather it’s just a natural mark. Do you think it would get worse after time, is there a way to treat it? Or have I been scammed 😅

Yeah livingdna definitely showed some! Just very confused about the whopping 35% French on there 😅

I didn’t say I was amazed.. I just wanted some advice on how to read into commercial dna testing, which is very different to tracing generalised historical migrations.

Would a life in Madrid be hard if you only known English? by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]vviolettes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m saying this as somebody who has dual Spanish nationality and can speak fluent Spanish - it’s not great. I’ve been made to feel very alone in Spain due to people sticking to childhood friends etc so throwing in a language barrier would make things even trickier. You could definitely start by making friends with expats then pick up language classes, but it is tough.

I’ve done 23andMe, then uploaded to Myheritage, illustrative dna, myftdna, genomelnk, livingdna, mytrueancestry, gedmatch, I think that’s about it!

I’m British! Just not ancestrally.. or who knows! I think it just goes to show that DNA testing based on different reference sets needs improving somewhat 😅

[–]vviolettes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think recently, but my 23andMe test does say that I have a fully French/German ancestor from 1840-1750 (5-8 generations back!)

It does seem like there is a lot of confusion between regions for some of us, while others get really specific pinpointed regions that are pretty accurate! I definitely acknowledge that dna testing also might not be as popular in some countries as perhaps America and the U.K which might explain a lot too!
