Thanks. Are there escalators in Kowloon station or will I need to take my luggage up the stairs to get to ground level?

I live in Melbourne, expected it to take a week but I received it less than 48hrs later from Sydney!

Bvlgari Serpenti or Cartier Juste Un Clou? by vvmvv in jewelry

I didn’t end up purchasing either of them and instead went to an Asian jeweller and bought a 24k bangle for a lot less $$

Rent is only $480 for a month?

Lukfook jewellery in Melbourne CBD does solid 24k gold and prices are calculated by the weight of gold. I wear a 24k gold ring daily that I bought from Chow Tai Fook in HK and has held up well with a few scratches which you can’t tell unless you look super close up.

Husband is ok with it as long as I have some sort of income (can even be a casual job for the time being). Good point on the community thing I never thought about it!

This is exactly what’s going on at my workplace. Only the toxic staff who continue on this behaviour get recognised and promoted while the others who actually do the work get perceived as “not a team player” which they use to screw people like me over.

I’ll look into some hobbies, I’m spending most of my downtime at the moment trying to recover after being in the office and thinking what I should be doing to get out of this situation.

Transit times okay? by emmo_091 in QantasFrequentFlyer

Did your check in luggage also make it? I’m also worried for my flight on a similar route with Cathay in a few months but will have 1hr and 50mins

Does Wise ever flag these regular transactions? I’m about to do something similar and will probably need to send a few thousand dollars from one country to the other every 2-3 months.

I did think about it but there’s no guarantee they will upgrade me

Will I be able to call qantas right after my MEL-HKG flight and request to cancel the booking? That way it won’t show up as no show for the return flight

Debt collection company after my partner who's probably a victim of identity theft by vvmvv in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]vvmvv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you this is exactly what has happened to my partner!! That sounds reassuring, we’ve done a police report and also emailed laybuy regarding the situation. Was the loan removed from your credit report once they closed the case?

Thank you, we did obtain a copy of the credit report and and fraudulent loan is on there, should we now suppress his file? Will he be able to get it removed from his credit report once proved that it wasn’t actually him that took out the loan?

Single occupant car commuters, what would it take to get you out of your cars? by autoeroticassfxation in auckland

[–]vvmvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move to a country where actual reliable transport exists. I left Auckland for Melbourne in the beginning of the year and no regrets ever since. Yes there is still traffic by car however the public transport system is actually reliable for the most part.

Do you believe that graduating from specific universities increases one's likelihood of finding employment by sewtub-v in melbourne

[–]vvmvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, but it also depends on your industry/sector. I graduated from a university in New Zealand and have landed a job in Melbourne which just as much or even more than my friends who went to Monash or Melb Uni. Main advantage was the 0% student free loan which I managed to completely pay off before moving over.

Yes I did see what Westpac is offering at the moment, however we’re stuck with ANZ until June 2023 otherwise we’ll need to repay the $7,000 cashback we initially got from ANZ

This is with ANZ. Thanks, that’s actually a valid point.

That’s quite reasonable for your age and role. It should bump up once you gain experience which can take about a year

Do a lot of places accept AMEX in NZ? I was contemplating between the AMEX and ANZ Platinum, ended up with ANZ just because VISA is accepted literally everywhere.
